Hey Guys. I am the original owner of a P229 40/357 Sig. I have a couple questions. Customer Service at Sig could not tell me the manufacture date of my firearm because it is pre-2005. The serial # is AL25251. Any help ? Also, my sights are not numbered. How can I be sure that its a #6 front and #8 rear as research indicates it should be. Appreciate any help or advice you guys can come up with

Shoot it. If it hits where you want it to, the numbers don't matter.

Kmitch and Parabellum.... Thanks for your replies. It DEF hits where I aim it, the numbers were for my own curiosity, but yes, they don't matter. The link does not show my serial number but I can guess from the others that mine is mid to late 90's

I am guessing that the numbers are there although very hard to see. Sometimes a smear of oil helps bring them out.
