Last July me and a buddy took a 2 week trip from PA to Montana, rode Yellowstone, Beartooth Pass, Glacier National Park and surrounding roads and were treated to some of the best scenery and roads one could imagine. On the way home we stopped in Rapid City, SD and rode Spearfish Canyon, Needles Hwy, Custer State Park, MT Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial.

Starting in Iowa I did this plus a rallies in Stanley, Idaho and Paonia, Colorado. Beartooth is one of my favorites.

I'll be riding from Missoula to Joseph, OR to Stanley, ID and back to Missoula via Chief Joseph Pass this July. Im planning a 3 week ride that also takes me back to Rapid City for 3 days and then south to Colorado for 3 days and riding the million dollar hwy. Might head west from there over to Utah and checkout 3 or 4 of the National Parks and RT12.

South Dakota is some beautiful country. Plan a trip through the Badlands. Amazing scenery. You should miss the Sturgis crowd in July.

Several, we've made trips from CFL to Western Carolina, looping through eastern Alabama, north GA, to all over Western NC. 28 out of Franklin, Deals Gap/129, Cherohala. The roads are great for motorcycles, weekday trips are best, no weekenders improves riding in the Smokies.

Best Rides were out in Nevada and Arizona, probably because it's not the Eastern USA. Day trips out of Las Vegas into the mountains, through Pahrump, down to Pioneer Station, through the Red Rock Canyons.

Arizona was interesting out of Tuscon south to Tombstone, then on to Bisbee and out into the country through Sierra Vista, Sonoita Vail and back to Tuscon. We ran short of time, wanted to go down to Naco on the border.

Although it's not my favorite but all aways be my famous ride. In the early 80's riding my new Ninja on the Palmetto Expressway. It ended with 2 tickets and a lawyer. I was young and stupid thinking I could run to the next exit, stupid, stupid, stupid Razz

Highschool, skpping school some Friday with a friend and his YZ80 and YZ125.

Talk about feeling 'free'... not a care in the world that day.

We're still close friends, 35ish years later.

Stick said I could post a car ride, so I will.

Many winters ago a friend and I took a memorable trip from Colorado to California (when it was still worth visiting) in his '69 Z-28, just like the one in the picture, in BRG color.

We're driving west across Nevada, and this is back when speeds were "reasonable and prudent," as I recall the saying was--or was that Montana? Anyway, I'm at the wheel and we were headed toward Lake Tahoe, where another friend of ours was living. We were talking about the cars we might encounter as we got closer to Tahoe.

"Maybe a Ferrari will come up on us at 100 mph plus," one us us said.

"Yeah, or Lambo, that'd be cool," he or I replied.

I glance in my rear view and I see headlights and a grill getting bigger and bigger. I was probably cruising at 80+, and this car was movin'!

As I got close enough to identify, I see that it's a '63 Chevy wagon with rusted out front fenders, probably doing every bit of 110 mph. As it got close I could see that the fenders were flapping loose in front of the doors. Never did see a super car of any kind.

We met up with our friend in Tahoe and he took us to this slide rock area, not too different from the one north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon. This place was out of the way, and it seemed like only locals knew about it. There was nudity back there and there was this bronzed goddess without an inhibition in the world. I can still picture her.

We went to SF, up into Marin County and I bought my girlfriend an outfit in a little shop in Sausalito. Napa Valley, the Redwoods, where two raccoons got into a fight outside of our tent over food we carelessly left out; they rolled into the side of the tent and scared the bejeezus out of me. It was just a great trip, in a great car, with a great friend.

One of my best rides was the helo ride off of the ship. I was on my way home from the Persian Gulf as my enlistment was ending.

Another was riding snowmobile around the fields and discovered some backwoods spots that I never knew existed. Others were there as there were tracks but it was a first for me and it was basically in my backyard.

Now I look for the twisties in my car. Nothing fancy but love spirited driving in the Audi.
