I've been blessed thus far with an aversion to truffles (the mushroom type, not the delectable chocolates).

However, with a recent experience of truffle salt with A5 (I blame my brother), I now have an acquired appreciation for truffles.

Please don't tell me good sources from which to buy them, don't expose me to different varieties, don't tell me what to look for and how to buy good ones, don't tell me various ways to enjoy them, don't reveal scrumptious ways to pair them.

A5, truffles, bourbon (acquired here) and other things are detrimental to my retirement.....

Smile

Hey, even a good blind pig can find a truffle !

Seriously, I agree ... good truffles as an addiction.

I have the room, now need to find the pig. (yeah, I am a retired LEO but can not find a truffle on my own). Smile

Truffles...mmmm.

I was in a shop in Italy and they had a bunch of truffles under glass. After speaking with the owner, he waved me over, lifted off the cover and motioned for me to inhale the scent from inside the deep glass cover. Oh god Cool , I could've climbed inside, I could've bought just that glass cover.

Then he brought out the white truffles Eek

Don't look for truffle carpaccio at your local Costco, and definitely don't toss crispy tator tots in truffle oil.

Urbani Truffles from New York. Imported daily from Italy and France.

Last quote I received was on 12/01.

Price is per pound (can buy by the ounce)
Black Winter - $660
White small -up to 12 grams - $2390
White medium - 13 grams to 65 grams $2890
White large - over 65 grams $3990

Those are wholesale prices, and doesn’t include shipping. Let me know when you want to order some!

I have a jar of truffle sea salt. Maybe i can toss tater tots with that. Shame to let the gift go to waste after all. Since a pound of truffle is more than my SS check, looks like that’s a pass.

Prime steak isn’t the same the day after having A5, even with the truffle sea salt. I’ll try again in a week.

Man what I’d do to even try one…haven’t smelled anything since sept. ….vaguely I remember some kind of Christmas chocolate that’s round and soft in the middle that’s a warm earth flavor…maybe that what I’m thinking of

You are much better off with a truffle dog, than a pig. The pigs want to eat the truffles and the dog prefers to help you find them.

Oh, and friend Konata, please don't try truffle fries Wink
