YES! He's from Belarus! Left there 30 years ago after serving in the Russian army.

We had an interesting evening.
We talked about what they were taught about the USA and what the reality was.

They were scared of us. They were sure America was going to start WWIII, and invade NATO forces.
Absolutely scared of American soldiers.

Not his first time in America but first time with an American family doing American stuff.
Had his first real American hamburger.

He was amazed at all of our guns we had.
He was impressed with our proficiency with them.
Asked if I was in army. I told him no but we grew up having and using guns.
He said they is why Russia will never invade America.

Regardless what he was taught, he believed we couldn't be much different.
And we aren't. He said Casa Cockatoo was like visiting the countryside in Belarus.
I think we made a good impression.

And here's Arty with my Garand making it go ping.

The guy's kid LOVED the American food. He was like there was NOTHING like that back in Ukraine.
He had a hamburger with everything he could possible cram on it and his hotdog had anything he could stick on it also. I have never seen lettuce on a hotdog until yesterday.
