2026 Monster Winter Storm to Hit Northeast
And here in South Texas it was 80 yesterday. But, we did get a cold front and were in the 50’s this morning. I also had to mow my yard Friday, kill the weeds and put out some weed and feed.

Calling for 6 to 24 inches here in NH. Those weather experts really know how to dial in their forecasts. Big Grin

I hope it's a bust but it's just starting to snow where I'm at, just outside of Philly, according to my weather app they're still predicting 12 inches. Hoping they're wrong but whatever it amounts to things will be back to normal by Tuesday or Wednesday so no need to panic.

8 degree F wind chill here in Wisconsin, my 4 year old granddaughter wants to walk to the playground. I told her to get gloves, she says she'll put hands in pockets. She starts playing on equipment and says her right hand is cold. I give her my glove. After a while, she says she's cold, I carry her a half mile home. Didn't even want hot chocolate when we got home. Northern kids are tough. All in sweat pants under a fairy dress. Good warm coat though.

WGAL forecast (Harrisburg, PA) has gone from 11"-19" to 2"-6" in the last 24 hours. Looks like a dud.

They're still saying by 12"-18" for us here in CT, and expect widespread power outages due to the wind.
We'll see if that changes later tonight.

Right now, the snow is barely falling.

I have a friend that lives in Jackson, NJ. Her and her husband drove down here to Baton Rouge to visit family. Looks bad at her house.

I am in Annapolis where less than an inch of snow has accumulated. We were forecasted to get six to eight inches of snow.

Yep. Same here in Severna Park, although Apple Weather insists we got 4.2”. It’s a lie.

Turned on the TV last night after a solid day of rain to see Josh Shapiro declaring a state of emergency in PA, thinking to myself, “really…?”

I've been at work since 8AM Sunday. Just went over to the door and found it open about 2", blown snow holding it open. That explains the cold. (tried to take a nap around 2AM and I couldn't sleep it was so hot in here, I was sweating)

Anyway, the snow on the other side of the door is knee deep. Hoping it's a drift. Looking out, the parking lot looks about 6+" deep, despite them plowing it non stop since yesterday.

Whatever it is, I'm stuck here. My driveway will be plowed in good by then.

ETA: just ventured out for the first time in hours. Work car and my truck are mostly clear of snow from the 35mph wind. This is what I'm really worried about at home. My roof took a good deal of damage in the last wind storm and these winds seem worse.

Well...ruler says right at 5 inches overnight. Still light snow coming down. Maybe another inch before it's over. South-central PA. Far cry from that 18-24 inches NOAA was predicting Thurs.

Talked to my mother last night. She lives on the Jersey Shore and they are looking at 2 feet or more by today.
I remember back in the 80s and 90s in my volunteer fire department going out on the fire engines and ladder truck trying to find the fire hydrants to dig them out.
I'm glad I live in Florida now.

Seeing reports of 19 inches at home currently. Don't know how you measure with the crazy wind.

Nontypical
It’s hard to tell exactly, but it looks to be about 16” so far here and it’s supposed to continue for most of the day.

Looking at National Weather forecasts Boston is the only city that is getting hit sort of hard, they are saying 11-17 inches of snow. About what the Snowbelt around Cleveland, Oh can get when the Lake Erie Snow machine gets going. Compare it to what Buffalo can get hammered with it's just a "light snow" event. BTW, NYC, Newark, and Philly are looking at 4-8 inches.

I've stopped counting.

We're in Southeast PA, just outside Trenton. I haven't gone out yet to start moving snow but I'd say there is at least 18" out there.

Still coming down pretty good, suppose to stop around 1pm.

After the last storm I said I'm not shoveling snow again, so I ordered an Ariens Rapidtrak Compact 24. Figure that should be plenty for us around here.

Can relate. When I grew up and lived in the Buffalo NY area, a foot of snow was a normal winter day. Everything proceeded as usual.

Weather forecasters, despite all the advances in technology, haven’t gotten better over the years.

Funny I now live in AZ ( where 2 inches of snow is the apocalypse) and in 10 years have had more “ snow days” off work here than in all my years in Buffalo
