At eight weeks they have no idea 'why' they're chasing, and have absolutely no idea what to do with what they're chasing. They just know they're supposed to chase. Smile

Saw something similar with a litter of Brittany pups and a dove's wing.

The pups didn't know why they were supposed to stop, point, and stay still but there they were; eight puppies motionless until the wing was pulled up (it was attached to a string attached to a fishing pole).

Drop the wrong again and one by one, the pups stop and point again with the boldest (the one I have) would slowly and stealthily as a six week old pup can, move forward.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The late Kanin, The Beast of Caerbannog (a pet rabbit in our home), all 2.5 pounds of her, would have chased all 10 of those pups and ripped their throats out.

Kanin was the meanest rabbit I've ever encountered. Before we struck a truce, she bit me twice, and used to charge at me (and everyone else) growling. Her behavior was... unsettling for an animal living in our home.

You are still missed Kanin.

Nah, did you see either of those rabbits scream or bust out when all those little hairy bastards pounced on them? The rabbits run until they tire, then they shut down and wait for the guy to come pick them up. Just a big game all around.

I made a mistake and played this while my 4 yo female blue tick and 13 yo male Warfield red were downstairs. Both were up in a windowsill looking outside. Female is now outside looking to run something.
