I can’t count the number of times I’ve read about someone that needed to make a quick milk run and toss something small into a jacket/coat pocket. The thing is I’ve never heard of anyone using a holster to do it. How do you anchor a holster in a coat pocket so you don’t dazzle some scumbag with gorgeous leatherwork should you need to draw? Or should I assume people are tossing a snubbie in their pocket without a holster?

You get a pocket holster with a high-friction exterior.
So when you go to pull the gun out, the holster stays put and the gun slides right on out.

This is where my signature goes.

That would be me on occasion. S&W642 in a jacket pocket.

I use A holster pocket kydex holsters. The gun slips out easily and the holster stays in the pocket
Most of my pocket carry in the AZ heat is shorts pocket, but a good pocket holster stays put in a jacket pocket as well. I would NOT carry a gun of any sort on a pocket without a holster, they shift around and you could go to draw and be grabbing the barrel or slide instead of the grip

Coronadoleather.com makes jackets with internal holsters. Have a couple from quite a few years ago and they work well. Unfortunately prices are now 2 and 3X what I paid then!

Same here.
Quick trip stuff, its my 340PD in the jacket pocket
I **TRY** to carry something with more rounds (G-19), but if I'm just tossing something in my pocket (Jeans or Jacket in the winter) really quick, it's a hammer-less snub.

I still use my 10+ year old Sig jacket for winter carry. It has an internal hidden pocket with an elastic to secure a holster.

The jacket has a ranch coat styling which completely fits in here.

Sometimes I'll use a holster or a fanny pack in the winter under a different jacket. But the Sig jacket is my favorite.

Beat me to it. I have this jacket and love it. I obviously don't need it in Phoenix. But I have CCW'ed in it in colder areas and it's perfect. I wouldn't carry a striker gun in it, but a SA/DA classic P-series SIG is fine.

PJ Holsters. Their Kydex pocket holsters are designed with both a thumb tab and a hook that catches your pocket to ensure a clean draw.
Great to do business with, too!

Living where I do, I wear cowboy boots and hat with it. Been doing that since before the show "Yellowstone". People think I'm copying Kevin Costner's look, but he's copying me!

The wife looks like a way classier version of "Beth". Nobody mistakes us for tourists on Main Street.

I do carry my P320 striker fired in the jacket. It is lighter than the 229, and it has the red dot sight. For low light situations the red dot is superior for old eyes. I put the pistol into soft holster and then put that into the jacket.

I will need a replacement for that jacket very soon. I haven't found anything a nice yet.

This thread is an eye opener. I initially thought, "Silly, it's even easier to conceal carry under bulky clothing!"

Then I realized what the OP was getting at. I'm going to have to rethink. But since it's in the middle of summer, I can't imagine how things are when it's cold so I'll have to wait.

Thank you for this thread.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Livin' up here in a place where it gets COLD, try getting to that pistol on your hip / in your waistband with a heavy jacket on. Yes, the Jacket does hide a pistol, but depending on where the pistol is (under a shirt / sweater) if the jacket is buttoned /zipped... it may take you a little while to get to the gun.

(Try to get to that pistol on your hip while seated in a car Wink but that's another story for another thread)

There's a few people on this thread talking about "Drawing" from a pocket holster.

My $.02? I'll patch up the hole in my pocket. It's easier than patching up a hole in me.
I'm shooting through my pocket if it's up close and personal.

I don't think I've seen this Jacket. Is Sig still making it ?

Yeah winter here in central TX is like 2 months. I wear a carhart jacket and usually have a IWB for my 1911, but if I walk out to grab the mail or move a trash can. I literally just toss the Jframe in the front right pocket, I always have it in a pocket holster that has some kind of sticky stuff around it

It isn't on their website. It is a chocolate brown canvas with a brown leather collar. Good insulation and quite warm. You might find a used one somewhere. Look for SigTac jacket.

In the Winter I’ve been wearing a Coronado leather vest with my jacket, using a Velcro backed kydex holster in the right side concealment pocket. Works great for me, easy access standing or sitting. Have had many compliments on the vest and does a good job of not printing. Thinking of ordering another one.
