I've read, and thoroughly enjoyed, everything he has written, including his non-fiction book American Gunfight. I just checked my library account, and Game of Snipers, for which I've been on the waiting list, has risen to the top and is ready for me to pick up. When in doubt, mumble | |||

His one book I did not enjoy was "Tapestry of Spies/The Spanish Gambit." It was set during the Spanish Civil War which I never quite understood or cared about. I haven't made the time to read any of his books yet, but did enjoy the movie Shooter, which was based on his book Point of Impact . American Rifleman interviewed Stephen Hunter several years ago and I did enjoy reading his comments in that. Sigmund, thanks for posting the A1F interview, I enjoyed this one as well. I think it would be interesting to meet Mr. Hunter. | |||

Mistake Not... |
The Day Before Midnight was my favorite of his. I've read almost all of them and really enjoyed most. Yes. Along with Hot Springs and Pale Horse. I recommend those who wish to protect themselves to read Dirty White Boys to get an inkling of what is in a criminal psychos head and what can and usually goes wrong. I seem to be drawn more to the Earl Swagger series. The Master Sniper is excellent also. | |||

I’ve read I think all the Swagger (Bob Lee and Earl) novels; I agree I enjoyed the Earl books best, Pale Horse was particularly memorable. I guess I’ll get the latest, see what kind of electric scooter Bob Lee is driving. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!" | |||

I've read almost all of his books and found them enjoyable. Even Tapestry of Spies, easily a notch below his other work, was ok. Incidentally, his characters often cross over to other books, either by appearance or just reference. One of the Soviet agents in Tapestry of Spies was mentioned as a mentor to an agent in one of his later books. __________________________ "Sooner or later, wherever people go, there's the law. Both a good guy and an actual shooter in real life. Met him at a gun show when he wandered by my tables. He used to come in the LGS that I worked at too. ____________________________ Everybody knows that the dice are loaded | |||
