Search result thumbnail for Ref.: "Black Maria" at the Edison laborato....

If anyone here is in education field, they should check this link, they may be able to access it depending on the institution. My SIL is a teacher in two schools, one college but those are not listed as accessible institutions for FL...

In the case of the LOC Quarterly, I'm after a particular article by Paul Spehr, who is a film historian specializing in the birth of motion pictures.

Go to the JSTOR site and sign up for an account. I didnt put in an University and just used generic answers out of the drop down boxes. You might be able to find what you are looking for.Edison Black Maria Orange showed a lot of hits as did Paul Spehr without tweaking the search terms. Hope it helps.

I'm alright it's the rest of the world that's all screwed up!

I pulled a copy of Paul Spehr article down.
It is a 9 page article and I saved it as a set of image files.

If this is okay with you, I'll send it to you via email.

I have been following this thread's journey and the Black Maria thread and it has been fascinating.

I accept, most gratefully. Please send it to the address in my profile.

Thank you. This thread barely scratches the surface. Shortly, I'll have yet another riddle for you guys to ponder if you so choose.

Suffice to say that I stuck my toe in the sand and struck oil.

Ask a librarian at LOC.gov...

Send them a request, takes 3 to 5 days

Checking to see if you received the article image files and if it was what you were expecting. (I had sent it Thursday around 2:45 CT.)

I see where Patrick pulled the article, I received a response today from the LOC on my request, they attached the TOC from that Issue and asked which article was needed and they would send it.

I uploaded it to Dropbox so you can see the information on that edition, and requested the article, which once they send it I'll dropbox it as well for others to see..

Man they are quick, just sent them the requested article and bam its back in my email.

Pretty Cool here is a dropbox link to the full article...
