Exceptional Circumstances |
we just finished my kitchen reno and my wife would like a flip down tv for streaming her morning shows. I thought I had found a good option with a brand called Sylvox but it was just a little too large (15.6) and didn't have the ability to swivel which is a deal breaker. Anyone have any experience with this? Would a regular ipad on a flip down bracket do the job? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

I put on up on the wall. Flip down is too small, 15” wall mount nearly perfect. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. If you have YouTube TV, an iPad would work because it basically turns that into a handheld TV when you launch the app. If you are going the iPad route, why wouldn’t you just have one of those stand cases that allow you to position it anywhere on the counter as needed? Why tie it to one position in the kitchen?

Ignored facts still exist |
or get a Tablo box or Silicon Dust box which also turns your ipad or android device into a handheld TV using your TV antenna and no monthly fees. I got the new generation Tablo for this purpose and love it. But the OP mentioned the word "streaming" so not sure what the source of the content if from. .

iPad for $399. Flip-style case for $45. Airpods Pro for $200. This setup will let her walk around and listen, while the iPad is in the stationary point on the counter. Then, she can take it to the table and watch while eating dinner. YouTubeTV, as much as I despise big G, for the content. Works with iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac. So, wherever I am, I can watch. ------- Trying to simplify my life...

We tried the flip down tv thing with my mom’s kitchen, as well as our own. An iPad is much, much, much easier from the power aspect alone, even before you start looking at how you’re going to get signal to the device. Plus iPads are nice because she can grab it and take it to the front porch or living room if she wants. “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”—H.L. probably a good thing I don't have a cut |
In Ipad or Android Tablet may work but it depends on how you get your TV. If you have cable TV and Internet and your service has an app, then that should work. If you're using an antenna, you would probably have to pay for a streaming service to get it on a Tablet but that would also work.
