I can't find where this has been covered before (although it probably has) but I'm sure someone here can provide an answer.
I picked up a new IPhone 12 Pro today to replace my old 6S. My photos transferred okay, but not texts or emails. Other than smashing them together really hard, is there a quick solution?
Put both phones in a burlap bag, and drive your car over them a few times. Note that plastic bags will not work, but you can duct tape them together if you don't have a burlap bag.

Great! Now I have to get a burlap bag. Does it have to be an Apple burlap bag, or can I just use something from the feed 'n seed?
just did this exact exchange a few weeks ago on an iPhone 6 for my wife and my iPhone 6 Plus going to two new iPhone 12 Pro Max phones. The on-phone instructions during setup walk you through the cloud backup and transfer process. Pretty seemless as are most things Apple.
Did that not work for you in your case or was there a bypass that your took?
There is always the Apple help desk which I believe you should have for a limited number of days.....

I did it phone to phone last time but before then I usually did a backup of the old Phone on itunes (on my windows pc) then restored the backup to tue new phone.
iTunes is supposed to be the "complete" backup. Last month I did a plain iCloud backup on my crapping-out 1st Gen SE. Fired up its replacement, another c.2016 SE, and logged it into iCloud. It's like the phone was cloned, down to screen wallpaper.
Biggest issue I've seen when doing phone to phone is that one of the phone's software isn't up to date.
Both Phones need to have the latest software for everything to go smooth. Typically the new phone needs it as it has been sitting as stock on a shelf and most people don't realize it.
I just went from a XS Max to a 12 Pro Max and everything went perfect because I updated the software on both phones before doing it.
Good luck.

I used the iCloud backup going from a 6S to the new SE 2020, all my emails and texts transferred. Just bought a new iPad and when I set that up with my Apple ID, emails and texts went to that as well.

You don't need iTunes for this anymore.

I've done this with both my wife's and my iPhones, and my wife's iPad. Easy peasy.

I just transferred from an 8 to a 12. The transfer took quite some time and I made things worse by trying to connect an apple watch and ipad before it was completed. It is possible that the process is just taking time.

I've done it several times, and it's always worked flawlessly. I get the transfer started, set them down next to each other, and leave. Don't keep fiddling with your new phone. Come back in a few hours and the new phone is identical to the old. Works like a charm.

Thanks to all of you for the help. I was getting ready to dive back into it and I watched the video Jack830 posted... Worked flawlessly. I'm up and running!
