NL electric lock on safe fast beeping after opening???
What does the fast beeps mean after opening?
I just swapped batteries no too long ago.

What is the brand/model of the safe and lock?

In the meantime, you may want to not close and lock it.

If you have an S&G lock with batteries in the keypad, it will beep like that when the batteries are too low. Batteries should be the good Duracell, and need to be fresh (7.75 v is acceptable, 9.2 v is new).

Keep in mind that you may have a damaged battery cable. This should be checked by a qualified SAVTA tech unless you’re confident you can troubleshoot and verify that both connectors are good and supplying power to the lock.

This. Use good Duracell or Energizer batteries, fast beeps usually means weak batteries

Standard Energizer 9v

Canon safe with NL electronic lock.

Gets used multiple times a day.
This is my EDC safe. Opened in the morning to get my stuff out and opened again at night to put stuff away.
Sometimes opened a few other times during the day.

It means the battery is "almost dead", but I had the same thing happen.

Replaced the battery with a name brand, I think Energizer or Rayovac and kept getting the fast beeps after opening. Looked at the manual and it said use Duracell. Bought a Duracell, and it's worked fine since. Beats me why.

I missed the NL brand in your first post. Same idea, the series of beeps indicates a low battery.

You should expect to replace the battery twice if not three times annually.

I swapped the battery 2 months back or so because it had been almost 3 years since purchasing the safe and had not changed the battery.

Bad batteries are out there. Do you have a multi-meter or voltmeter? If so, check the battery. It is probably low.

For the safe, don’t buy 4-packs and store them unless you also use them in smoke detectors and the like. Just plan to buy FRESH and change twice a year, maybe once if you aren’t getting the beeps after 8-9 months.

Every week, every single week with new and existing accounts, I change batteries on bank safes to Duracell because the customer can’t understand why the dollar store or CVS brand doesn’t cut it.

New Duracell seemed to fix it.
Thanks.
