So I am brining the WHO DEY NATION to Buffalo this weekend.
Want a good meal before heading to the game. Where should we go?
We are staying like 4 miles from the stadium. We are driving so will have a vehicle but don’t want to go too terribly far.

WHO DEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the game. I would think get to the stadium early and would guess there will be all kinds of things available there? Sorry, that is all I got.

How far do you want travel from the stadium? What do you want to eat? There are a few good places around the stadium but it's all going to be bar-food.

Big Tree Inn is right across the street from the stadium but it'll be packed early. That's where players will hang out.

Italian - Mangia in downtown OP
OP Social Tap & Grill - more bar food

Cappelli's Pizza - Pizza joint
Nino's Pizza - Great pizza & wings

Rush Creek Ale House - Used to be Hoak's Amour Inn.

I'd say Hoak's on the lake but I think it'll be too cold for that.

If you want to drive head in to Allen Town or Downtown Buffalo:
Anchor Bar - famous wings
Gabriels' Gate - more wings
Pearl St Grill and Brewery - Gets you down by the waterfront but it might be a bit chilly for that. It's a nice area - Pegulas put a lot of money in down there when they built the new Sabres stadium. Also has a WWII destroyer - The USS Sullivans is there.

That'll get you started. Lemme know if you want other suggestions.

Whatever you end up doing, you're going to want to be back near the stadium fairly early. OP is a small town in a small city and getting to parking will take you a bit since all the surface streets will be dealing with traffic and pedestrians.

Oh, I just realized it'll be early on a Sunday. I can't say I know what will actually be open. I'm guessing most of what I suggested probably wont' be open before 11am on Sunday. Your best bet is to call ahead and get there right at 11-ish.

Where ya staying and what kind of meal? I'll try to point you to a couple places. It will be a zoo near the stadium a good 3-4 hours before kickoff and it will be chaos, tailgating is as big as the game around here. Locals shelter in place on gameday lol. I hope you leave disappointed but I never put too much faith in the Bills, it's fitting that they play each other though. I'll be out of town until Sunday afternoon so I'll slide in during the game. It will be loud and you will have fun. Unless you catch an idiot nobody will bother a Bengals fan, most of us are pretty good. Hell there were tons of Dolphins jerseys in the stadium last weekend and nobody got killed that I know of.

If nothing else, maybe do something 'Tailgate Style'. Breakfast burritos are ridiculously easy and basically NO cleanup! You can precook/prep the ingredients (Bacon, Sausage, Peppers, Onions, Cheese, etc), and you can even have eggs ready to pour in ziplocs or some other disposable container so no kracking eggshells open and the associated mess.

Believe it or not, you can pre-portion the eggs in ziplocs and have an ingredient bar where everyone adds everything they want to their personal egg portion, AND cook the eggs right in the ziploc bag in boiling water! All you need is a pot and some binder clips to attach the ziploc to the side of the pot, and once they're cooked, you put the eggs (now a burrito shaped omlette) in a tortilla and add Hot Sauce, Salt & Pepper, etc to taste, and BOOM...Breakfast Burrito! NO plates required either...ZERO cleanup! Just dispose of the bags and pour out the water.

I've done this numerous times on Boy Scout weekend camping trips where we didn't want a big cleanup on Sunday AM when we broke camp, packed out and headed home. It would work great for a WHO DEY road trip too! Cool

Getting to parking will be a full time job. Always, always tailgated for a Bills game when I lived there in the 70's. I doubt much has changed on game day. Have fun.

Expert 308... in reference to the -60*F temperatures for cooking........ Can remember some of the best tasting BBQ that I was able to cook myself and eat was after digging the homemade heavy barrel cooker out of the snowdrifts with the outside temps of near + or - of -50*F During some of the winter months while living in Alaska (Delta Junction / Ft. Greely) (uncle sam was my travel agent).......... drill sgt.

As have a fair number of alumni from all over the Mountain West Conference. I'm a Boise State guy myself (Wyoming beat us during Allen's senior year) and I've been rooting for the Bills more lately.

Looking for a Sunday brunch likely so we can eat at like 10. Not crazy far from the stadium.

Going to be a whirlwind trip unfortunately.
Get into town about 10:30 Saturday night. Sleep kind of late grab, some food, head toward the stadium, then drive home after the game.
