in the end karma always catches up |
It has been a rough year with dogs. I lost my WGSD, Dieter, to cancer a couple of months ago. I am still heartbroken. The same week that we found out he had cancer we also learned our other dog, Luna, had DM. She has been slowly losing strength but seems worse the last few days. My house has stairs everywhere which makes it harder on her. How do you know when as this is unlike a sickness when you typically have an idea? What did you do as far as keeping a dog comfortable as the disease progressed? Any tips or suggestions? This has been pretty difficult for me. Any information or advice is appreciated. Our Bodie has it…he’s 15. His back end has degenerated visibly quite a bit. We walk him in the yard to keep his joints working and what muscle he has working. We put area rugs down on hard wood to prevent slipping. No stairs for him any more…all first floor. There is no pill or treatment other than exercise as tolerated. Best to just keep them moving as much as possible w/out over doing it. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag!
