Those louvers on the trans am and camero rear windows.

Four wheel drive el Camino's,

Gasser style two door station wagons.
Those hood pin/ clips.

Maybe woody sides ,real or fake.

Fins on rear quarter panels?

Wind wings, particularly the crank out ones that you could fine tune. On long drives, late at night, adjusting the wind wing to blast cold air in your face while cranking the heat so the rest of you didn’t freeze was an effective strategy.

The 280z. That thing pulled like a train, went around corners like it was on rails and was a treat to drive. I often regret selling it. However, from what I’ve heard, if I didn’t sell it, it probably would have rusted away on me instead of someone else (though I never saw any issues w/ rust). Getting in and out of it now would be a little more challenging. From recollection, one was sitting with the tailbone feeling like it was 1 foot off the ground and their legs pretty much straight in front of them. I guess it would help one stay limber. Smile

Still see them on newer 'pony' cars. But they don't look as good.

Hyundai's Santa Cruz is the modern day El Camino. It's AWD, but 4-door.

My paternal grandfather drove an El Camino and my maternal grandfather drove a Ford Ranchero. My first vehicle was a Dodge Rampage which was a compact version of the concept.

Large windows that you could see out of. Chrysler cars from the mid '60s to early '70s, in particular, were like a greenhouse, and you could also see all four corners. This period also saw some very cool external and interior styling. Example:

Bench seats. The one in the '84 Chevy C20 I had was long and flat enough to catch some Z's on fairly comfortably.

No El Camino was ever 4wd. Some people did put its body on a truck frame, but the vehicle from the factory was car-based, i.e., off the Chevelle.

I do like the big greenhouse look. The Honda products of the early 90's were terrific in that regard. I don't know if it's just fashion or engineering for safety (steel safer than glass), but I always liked the wrap-around windows.
Of course today we've got those panoramic sunroofs, so maybe it is just fashion.
The cool guys all get all their windows tinted dark anyway so no one can look in.

Definitely miss the sofas on wheels. Had a ‘96 sedan de ville which was comfy.

Miss having leg room and head room.

That 1965 Bonneville reminds me that I used to refer to those big cars as the "All American Cars" because they stretched from Sea to Shining Sea! Cool

A client of my father's had a 1963 Bonneville convertible and my college room mate had a later (1967?) Bonneville two-door hardtop with, of all things, a 3-speed stick shift, column-mounted.

Both of them had enough power that, I swear, if the owners floored it heading east, it would slow the earth's rotation. Luckily, there were enough heading west to compensate.

What do I miss from back then? Parking spots that would fit them. These days, at least around here, parking spots are substantially smaller, and if you end up parked next to a Suburban in a store's lot, you need a flagger to back out safely.

I had a 69 that I put the side pipes on. Bedford County said they were illegal but the Judge thought different. Plus the speeding ticket that a race car couldn't obtain that speed in that distance. Even the State Troopers setting in the front row had a smile on their face.

Then the Officer changed his story that I left the parking lot without stopping before entering the highway. By then, the Judge had enough of this Officers wasting the Court's time. Others had a big smiles and I thought they were going to applaud as I left. Big Grin The Officer must have had a bad reputation.
