I just emailed my representative
I gave him my thoughts on voter ID and a reason why I think he should change his position on it.

I have never contacted a democratic official to give them my thoughts on any subject. I always figured I was wasting my time. I still have zero confidence that he will even entertain the thought as he is a die hard democrat but what the heck, at least I can say I tried.

I envy you guys in the free states. My Senators are the Fake Indian, Liz Warren and also Ed Markey also known as the Frosty Ice Cream man because that's the only other job he's ever had. And to top it off my Rep. is Seth Moulton who is a disappointing example of a U.S. Marine.

Wouldn't waste my time emailing any of these sad choices that we voted in.

I emailed Senator Slotkin once. Now I get constant “intel briefings” (her wording) from her.
I guess that’s supposed to make me feel like I’m on the inside as she’s ex-CIA.

You can call any of them by using the numbers listed here. My problem is being civil when I do this.

I recently emailed my congress people as well. These are the three things I mentioned to each:

1. Native-born US Citizenship – The offices of President and Vice President require this, and the same should apply to Congress and the United States Supreme Court. No one who is not a native-born US citizen shall be eligible to serve within the US Congress. Recent actions by certain foreign-born members of Congress have brought questions about allegiances to other nations and / or entities.

2. Security Background Checks – All members of Congress shall be subject to the same security background checks as US Military for “Secret / Top Secret” security clearances. Many sensitive subjects are discussed, and the potential is great for leaks going to those who might not have US best interests at heart. Remember how many Congress members were upset when some of the recent Iran actions weren’t discussed before actions were taken? The obvious answer is that some would have probably tipped off the Iranian government about it. Also, some Congressional members have had close contact with questionable foreign nationals (Sen. Feinstein’s driver and Sen. McConnell’s wife as examples).

3. Term Limits – In my life experiences, I have seen a lot of people who enjoy the title and “perks” of a position but shirk the responsibility and accountability of the position. Obviously, not all members of Congress fall into this description, but there are several members of Congress who have made a lifelong career of their time and service within, sometimes with apparently little benefit to those they claim to represent. So, Senators should serve no more than four (4) consecutives terms (24 years), and Representatives should serve no more than ten (10) consecutive terms (20 years). For combination service (some House and some Senate), no more than 24 years total.

Those term limits aren’t short enough to eliminate the kind of corruption that term limits are supposed to deter.

I always send back a note and include it in their reply envelope (as long as they were paying the postage). Such comments as: You have no plan for America except to destroy it. Throw in a couple of expletives if you want.
