| Did anybody grab the shuttle driver's phone, to see if it was in use at the time? |

| Holdem, please make sure you get checked out too. I got rearended in a similar situation, I was the car hit, and it pushed me into the police car I was behind. Felt ok, but the next day my neck was really bad with whiplash. I could barely move the next few days. And it is possible to mess up your back too, just don’t realize it until later. |

| Insurance adjuster looked at the vehicle today. I am shocked, but they are going to repair. The car is already at the body shop. I was there when the adjuster looked at it. She estimated $9K in repairs. She is expecting a bit more once the body shop starts disassembling it.
She said she probably would not have totaled it until repairs reached around $17K. I was stunned since that is about $1K away from full retail value of the car.
But, good for me. I get to keep a known entity. I get to keep a car a like. And I get to keep no car payment. |

Get my pies outta the oven!
| You may want to think about getting rid of it after you get it back. I was always told that no car will ever be the same after taking a certain force in a collision and little things like wiring and electronics may even be a problem down the road. I had a Mazda3 that I had for 3 whole weeks and was involved in an accident where someone got t-boned really bad and they bounced off me and it crumpled my whole front end and set air bag off. State Farm ended up shelling out over $14,000 on that car which was only worth about $16,000 at the time. My trusted family mechanic who we had known for years advised me to get rid of it as soon as I got it back. It was traded in the very day I picked it up.

Wow that is amazing seeing how much damage there is. Some guy recently reversed into the side of my car with his trailer hitch impacting the passenger door at low speed. Damage was limited to one door. No glass breakage or any intrusion. It was a $11k repair. Door shell alone was a $2500 part. |

The rear QTR panel is a $1,500 part. The entire tailgate is $2,000, which kind of surprised me, thought it would be way more. Then the bumper, sensors and various other items. |

| Coworker just went through this with his near 200k mile Colorado. Got a light looking [bumper, tailgate, bedside, and the LR leaf spring was skewed] rear end hit by a Dodge 2500. Was about 15% away from being totaled, but they fixed it. Bummer for him, is that the Dodge driver gave him current insurance info, only to find later that it was lapsed.
