I was a huge fan until he told me to go fuck myself for being a Trump voter and I stopped paying him any attention.

So now it’s affecting his bottom line because the majority of his customer base are more likely to be conservatives and Trump people and not liberals because we like his brand of family oriented clean comedy.

Well it’s too little too late, Jimbo. We saw your true colors and you are still dead to me:

Why would anyone in that business or any business really want to eliminate half of their customer base?

I only recollect enjoying gaffigan's comedy in the early 2000s, and never followed after. When I heard he had gone out of his way to criticize Trump, and later support Kamala Harris, I knew I would never really enjoy his comedy again. It's okay. He was at his funniest 20-yrs ago, anyway.

Misleading headline: If you read the article... he says he hasn't been affected much, and has no regrets about it. He is sorry he offended some of his audience, blah blah, blah, but believes what he said, hasn't suffered any consequences from it, and there you go. I also used to like him but stopped listening or paying any attention to him at all after he said we can all go F ourselves. He is still rich as hell and doesn't care what you think, he is just saying it nicer than that.

I regret that people think that I was criticizing people that support Trump. And that was never the intention,' Gaffigan said. 'I regret – someone said like, now I can't follow you anymore and I kind of said 'F you' to them.'

Gaffigan said he didn't regret the substance of what he said about Trump.

Looking back on it, Gaffigan said he acknowledged 'that there are true die-hard Trump fan who probably enjoyed my comedy, but because they feel so passionately will never forgive me.'

'But also, something I've noticed in doing stand-up for so long is, you're going to lose people. You're also going to attract people,' he continued. 'But there are going to be people who are like, you know, I don't have kids, I think he's funny, but I don't get this.'

Gaffigan said there wasn't a 'measurable' effect once his anti-Trump views were public.

Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

He would have benefited greatly from reading and memorizing the Jay Leno playbook of comedy,
Specifically the chapter on politics.

The thing about the left is they are tone deaf to the feelings of others until it gets into their pocket. That is a universal fact.

There's quite a bit of entertainers that would benefit from reading Leno's book. Nevertheless, the need to be edgy, on-trend and relevant, pushes many to do stupid, instead of reading the room and not impulsively acting.

Gaffigan could be my brother’s twin. They look similar, they’re built similarly and their voices sound identical down to the inflections. Most of all, they both have the cocksure sense of moral and intellectual superiority. If this holds true then Jim’s opinion of Trump, regardless of experience to the contrary, is immovable. Though that opinion is based on hypocrisy, urban legend, myth, distortion by omission, and pure bias. Any effort to allay those opinions, even in the presence of documented facts, proves only that I am morally/intellectually compromised. There is no correction nor context that redeems Trump. I quit trying and now I quit caring.

Gaffigan is funny. I let him entertain me. I won’t pay him for it directly. My brother is family. I let him entertain me. I won’t discuss Trump politics with him.

Jim only regrets how his behaviors affect him. He couldn’t care less how others react.

Gaffigan is like most other entertainers....once they've been called-out on their BS, their imprecision, their cluelessness they back up. He knows he screwed up but, he doesn't care, what's done is done. He has enough money and generated enough good will with enough executives he'll remain in the industry to continue to get project offers.

There is a personality disorder called "narcissistic personality disorder." Gaffigan fits that to a T. And your brother too, darthfuster.

No point in trying to talk to them. They are outside the realm of rationality. They are absolutely right, and if you don't know that there is something wrong with you. Also, they have no awareness of how what they are saying affects the feelings of others.

I hadn’t considered that, Joe, but in my brother’s case, at least relative to Trump and moral superiority, you’re probably right. I had described it as stubborn arrogance. Perhaps that fits in the box.
