Pretty sure what I'm looking for is out there, just don't seem to be able to find the right search term.

It's a flexible rubber or vinyl based magnetic strip. Size is not critical, but 1/4 x 1/4 x 12" long would be handy. Larger/smaller/longer okay. I can find all sorts of flat strips but nothing with any height/thickness to it, which is what I need. Pretty much everything I can find is adhesive backed which won't work.

I want it to create oddly shaped forms for casting items out of plaster and/or epoxy.

Any leads appreciated.

Bingo! Not magnetic, but I can work around that.

This place never fails to amaze. Thanks!

Most any appliance repair parts store will have magnetic gaskets as used on refrigerators.

Another good idea. I'll look into that.

Did you punch in "flexible magnetic strip" in Amazon? There are dozens of results showing rolls of magnetic strips in various widths.

Nevermind, I'm seeing you are needing it with 1/4 thickness

Yup, that's what's limiting my options. Doesn't look like the magnetic gasket thing will work either, due to the odd profile.

McMaster Carr has 1/4" thick cut-to-size flexible magnet sheets. Not entirely sure you can cut them into 1/4" strips, but maybe worth a try.

McMaster Carr is always the first place I look when I need an odd piece of hardware or material or whatever.

There's an option at the bottom for 1/4" (.25) x 3" wide x 60" roll.
