"The woman being questioned by Senator Kennedy in the clip is Mary Anne Franks, a legal scholar and professor at George Washington University Law School.

She was being questioned by Senator John Kennedy during a Senate hearing titled "The Censorship Industrial Complex," which was part of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary’s subcommittee on The Constitution.

Franks is known for her expertise in intellectual property, technology, and civil rights law, and has previously held the position of Michael R. Klein Distinguished Scholar Chair and Professor of Law at the University of Miami School of Law.

She is the author of "The Cult of the Constitution: Our Deadly Devotion to Guns and Free Speech," which received accolades including a gold medal at the 2020 Independent Publisher Book Awards and the 2020 Association of American Publishers PROSE Award for Legal Studies and Excellence in Social Sciences.

Her second book, "Fearless Speech," was published in 2024.

Franks has been involved in significant legislative efforts, such as the SHIELD Act, which became part of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2021, addressing issues of online abuse and privacy.

She is also the President and Legislative & Tech Policy Director of the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative, focusing on combating online abuse and discrimination."

The BALLS on this incredibly smug, anti-American bitch! I've said it before and I'll say it again: you may be an American citizen, with all the rights and protections attendant with this citizenship, but if you don't believe in and support the Constitution in its entirety, you are not an American, and anyone who does not recognize this distinction, is part of the problem.

BTW, I disagree with the caption of the clip on Twitter. This woman did not "squirm" at all. She was combative and evasive but to say that she squirmed suggests that she is conscious of the obscenity of her positions and is ashamed of their revelation in this hearing, but it's not true. She hasn't a clue how wrong she is and how ashamed she should be.

She seems to be a fairly interesting woman based on what I just read about her. American born to immigrant parents, intelligent, very attractive, successful. I also find it a bit ironic that she is an instructor in Krav Maga, but almost certainly opposes Israel. What I see through her comments to Senator Kennedy, along with her tweets, articles, commentary, etc. is that she hates men with the same fervor that Jack the Ripper appeared to hate women or that Hitler hated Jews. She despises the traditional male and female roles and essentially blames the reason for those roles on men. She hates the traditional male/ female relationship so much that the hatred permeates her entire view of the world. I also saw that her husband died in 2016. I wonder if her views changed much or perhaps became more intense after his passing. I actually view her with a certain sadness, because she strikes me as an extremely unhappy person despite her success, physical beauty, intelligence and even her stature in her field.

I am good friends with someone who is a close friend of Ms. Franks. My friend is in the music world and in the LGBTQ community. We pretty much never talk politics, but I have heard several times how brilliant Ms. Franks is.

My friend is moderately fearful of supposed oppressor groups, and definitely identifies as part of an oppressed group. Which is what we see in Ms. Franks' statements. Thinking that the 2A enables misogynist white supremacists against women and minorities, and that gun control thus protects these victim classes? The progressive mindset really is a form of mental illness.

I would love to debate Ms. Franks on the 2A though I bet she is convinced of her superior morality.

Meh. She appears to be very well spoken, and completely solid and confident in her beliefs. Personally, if I had to come up with a pithy description of how wrong her beliefs are, it would probably go something like, “She has her head so far up her exhaust (effluent) pipe that she will never have any chance of seeing daylight.”

As a random person, spouting off her indoctrinated stupity, I don’t really see her as evil or hate her. I just see her as completely lost and pity her for whatever caused what seems to an otherwise intelligent person to be so stupid. Now, if she were in a position to affect my life I might feel very differently.

Whenever I've come across a highly accomplished person, who has a stack of certifications, letters and accolades to go along with a fervor and intensity of a specific ideology, you've got to wonder what part of the spectrum they're sitting on. The intensity and drive of their beliefs is so strong, that they don't realize (nor care) what's going on with their surroundings nor understand how they're being perceived by others.

People like Ms Franks get put up as Expert on a topic to promote policies. She has testified to Congress several times. She's written books and papers which get referenced as authoritative. People like my friend, who is quite intelligent yet on the topic of 2A is ignorant, accept the Expert Authoritative position as being correct. They accept it in part because the expert is an intellectual.

Ms Franks does have power to sway policy, and she desires to sway policy. She does affect our lives. She is dangerous. Probably not evil like Fauci, yet still influential.
