I am planning to install recessed led lighting in the ceiling in several rooms of my future home.
A google search revealed some lights that are wired to 120 and some share a main power supply that they share.
I want to be able to use a dimmer switch to operate the lights.
All recommendations and opinions are appreciated.

Depot and Lowe's sells them.

I recommend getting the type with a large [vertical] on/ off rocker and small dimmer slide on the side vice, a larger slider with a small [horizontal] rocker on the bottom. YMMV

Also, for the largest rooms, consider lighting zones to control where there's light and finally; lots of lights allow the house to be a bright as you want it, the zones and dimmers allow control of the amount of light

I'm not sure what you are asking, but most all LED retrofits and new work units can be dimmed. Sometimes it's trial and error to get right combo of dimmer and LED (buzzing or flickering).

Best bet is have your electrician supply/guarantee them or buy something from Home Depot, whatever you do don't buy anything from Amazon unless you've seen it in person in advance.

I prefer installing old school recess lights then using LED bulbs or retrofit trims, that way if you have a failure three years down the road you can replace it yourself without calling an electrician. Other recommendation buy spares so if you do have a failure you don't have to replace entire room full of lights, since the products change every 6-12 months.

Lastly don't trust any guarantee you see, they are all lies. All you need to do to verify that is drive by a gas station at night and look for blinking LEDs. The LED is usually good for 5-10 years+, but the drivers will fail.

I have 14 can lights between my living area and my kitchen area consisting of 3 separate circuits. All circuits are on Z-Wave dimmers that are very versatile. I can turn on/off with Alexia, a Smartthings Controller and my Harmony Home Remote. One circuit is on a motion detector as well. Bulbs at Costco and switches on Amazon. Living room lights are controlled by Smartthings to come on at 30 minutes before sunset each day.

Take a look at Lithonia Lighting.

They are ultra thin. for new construction you buy the flat steel sheets that screw to the strapping. The plate is extra.

The ceiling guys cut the holes out in seconds and when it was done the lights just snapped in.

Put enough slack in the wire so you can reach in and pull out the driver and replace if it ever goes bad.

They are dimmable and you can select the color either cool or warm with a slide switch on the driver box.

Fast installation, they have built in push in connectors that work very well.

I have 24 on my first floor, in various sizes.

I have them wired on three circuits with TP-link switches and controlled by either the switch or by voice using Alexa.

They were 30% less at the electrical supply house than at Home Depot.

I think what you are asking if they are all daisy chained in a series so all lights come on with one switch. Then yes, its all in how you wire them.

I've used these in the past and they worked well. Only downside is beam spread is pretty narrow, so you need to space them a little closer. Pay attention to the photometric charts, if it's not on the box Google the cut sheet for the product.

I just bought a couple of flat panel LED ceiling lights (2x4) from warehouse-lighting.com

Excellent CS and they really seem to know their stuff.

Good to see the new offerings.
In the past I bought inexpensive Utilitech cans and replace the lights with LED's.
The dimming capability may vary with dimmers so check the requirements accordingly.
The ability to user-select the temperature is a big plus.
Depending on the environment I don't like the whiter/bluer higher temp look much but YMMV.
My experience is from a bathroom remodel.
So dimmability is a plus or a great alternative to having to guess on how bright the room needs to be.

Some LED bulbs are just bad at dimming or won't. And some Dimmers are garbage. Bit of trial and error, IME.

Be sure to get a warm color temperature for the bulbs, unless you want your living room looking like Walmart at 2am.

Cool/Blue/White is good for Operating Rooms, Kitchens, Garages, and Bathrooms.

Warm/Yellow/Red for Living, Dining, and Bedrooms.

Also, buy a few extra bulbs at the same time as the lights so that you have them, in case they switch styles or colors.

We used SURFACE-MOUNT LED’s from HD, they do not require a can, are inexpensive, and easily wired to dimmer or electronic control.
This technology replaces recessed fixtures.

Used 8 in large living room, 4 in family room, 4 (brighter white) in kitchen, 4 in master bedroom.
It was a fantastic upgrade—do not need any floor lamps at all.
