Saw the thread on men's cologne.

I remember a spray my first real love wore in high school. Maroon bottle with round gold lid. Might have been Lauren, but can't swear to the name.

I loved that smell so much I could almost get some wood when I happened upon it....
Of course, that odor being associated with losing ones virginity probably has something to do with the wood aspect.

They say odors can evoke strong memory - and I believe it. Anyone else remember a young love having a scent she wore all the time ?

I remember a gf that I had a bad breakup with. She wore a scent called white shoulders or something like that. Every time I smelled it on another woman, I wanted to puke.

Nah - I don't need the name. Just thought it was interesting that a 55 yr old dude is having thoughts about a perfume his girl friend wore in high school. funny. sad ? I don't know. but interesting.

When my wife and I were dating 35 years ago, she wore le Jardin. They discountinued it sometime later but I see that somebody is making it again. Reviews say that it smells the same but I'm somewhat afraid that it won't smell as good as I remember and I don't want to ruin the memories.

Dated a girl for several years after I moved to Houston in 1984. She wore Cinnabar by Estee Lauder. Good lord...I was like a flared-nostril horse in heat when she wore that stuff around me!! Too bad she turned out to be a bitch. Thank GOD she moved back to Minnesota before the breakup... Razz

I buy my wife a few different ones I like-Wings,Liz Claiborne and Eternity. I don't care for most of the new ones but Victoria's Secret has some newer ones that smell really nice without being overbearing.

I remember my college sweetheart's perfume... which also had a maroon bottle with a gold cap: Poison. I still like the perfume but the Ex has long been jettisoned.
Smelling Poison does harken me back to HS and my undergrad days though.
