My sister warned me last week to not plan to cook this past Sunday because she ordered me a twenty five pound box of peaches from The Peach Truck and that we were picking them up Sunday morning. I went Saturday and bought new canning jar lids and sugar, etc. We stopped on the way over there Sunday and bought a bag of ice for water bath after blanching. Picked them up and they were several days away from being ripe enough, so I took a day of vacation yesterday on my actual birthday and spent all day peeling and slicing, canning, prepping for freezer bags and making peach cream kuchens. What a buttkicking day of work that was. Have two batches of premeasured batches for jam frozen too. I’m guessing it may be a month before my kitchen is completely de-stickied. I got other cool stuff too, and there are lots of future peach delights in the freezer. I’ll be working a little more than a year longer, so only Part A for me for now.

Peaches what a great present, and my favorite fruit too. Happy belated b'day!

My grandfather used to say, “The Lord could have made a better dish than peaches and cream, but He saw no need of it.”

Happy Birthday, peaches sounds good and a lot of work my Sis in Law does that as well, we take a jar of it up to my dad, he's 88 and loves them.

Now hopefully you got your Medicare all setup, don't dilly dally, you'll get a penalty down the road if you delay!

Welcome to the club...

Thank you everyone! Six pints canned, five quarts, plus makings for two big batches of jam in the freezer, plus four cream kuchens.
Part B and Social Security wait until I retire a year from November. I get to start my countdown on Halloween this year.

I made them for my sister for just that reason. She likes peaches in heavy syrup with cottage cheese.

I turn 65 today. My day won’t be so busy. Although my wife made some peach cobbler for me last night. With ice cream, yummy.

Tonight, Mexican at Twisted Taco and maybe a movie. Spider Man seems fun.
