TSEWhat are the positives of wearing an iWatch?
I have a series 7. I use it for notifications, health tracking, and I have it set up to provide noise exposure readings too.
They are very versatile and useful.
For those concerned about battery life, yes they have somewhat limited life, but they charge quite quickly. Mine is usually good for the day after about one hour on the charger.

I'm only interested in the cell phone capability of the watch. The other features don't interest me. Well, maybe music or podcast when I'm riding my bike. But that's a distant second.
I keep eyeing the SE (cheapest path). I think I can have a cell phone watch for $329 + $10/month cell service? Interested but balking....

There's a lot of selections, so of course go with the options that fit your needs. Me, I need a phone and a stand along watch with cell service is nice but does little for my particular needs.

Haha, sounds like the exact opposite of that.
Being untethered from my phone is just one of the reasons I will never own one of those things.

I believe he means not having to have his phone yet remain connected.

And I believe what
you mean is being able to disconnect, go off the grid, what-have-you.

Cry

Then go buy a replacement
In the meantime: Everything save the HR monitoring, fall detection, sleep monitoring, and certain activity tracking can be done from the phone. It'd just be less convenient.

PASigI can’t wear one just because half or more of my awake time I am sitting in an area where I’m not allowed to have such a device. It would be a total PITA to have to always worry about taking it off and putting it back on.
I notice my brother-in-law tends to look at his wrist a whole lot more than he would with a plain old watch just because the thing is always notifying him about something.

I have nearly all of the inconsequential notifications turned off.
I regard as "inconsequential" anything I don't
need to know about
right away.
