Would you eat food shipped to you from source unknown?
Just noticed this morning, when watering the plants, that there is a medium sized Amazon Prime box sitting at the front door. Strange, I said, I didn't order anything and am not expecting any delivery. Opened it, and there were two boxes of Royal Dansk Danish Butter Cookies inside, both still taped. Label shows correct delivered name and address, but there is no indication whom/where they came from. No personal or company name, no return address. Just some QR code and some number (likely Amazon Tracking Number). There is no packing slip. I'm not inclined to even open the boxes. No way Jose!

What would you do?

I have a firm policy on any food: When in doubt, throw it out.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

My first thought is that it’s a SIGforum member sending you a gift.

Not certain what I’d do, unless said individual fessed up.

Is this a cookie you are known to have a liking for? Perhaps it was from co-workers or one co-worker?

Death by Danish butter cookie,
I am going to need some time to think about this one.

I love those cookies.

Toss 'em.

*edit*

I guess I'd ask around to see if anyone I knew sent them, but still.....

Send a note to Amazon explaining they sent you cookies instead of the case of ammo you ordered?

I wouldn’t risk it. Straight to the trash.

A friend would have sent milk with them.

Regift! Wink

Seriously, though, I’d check with Amazon.

ETA: consider today’s date as well.

Food, no. It's not unheard of for Amazon though. Last week I received a portable sink basin thingie from Amazon that I didn't order. Same thing, my name, my address but no charge on my Amazon account.

Amazon seller create 10+ fake profiles, fake profiles order the good, seller mails the fake goods to random addresses because Amazon tracks shipping, recipient is confused as they didn't order, seller uses fake profiles to create glowing reviews, people buy the good due to the fake reviews, reality sets in and bad reviews pour in, Amazon seller rebrands the good, rinse and repeat.

I have found that Amazon often sends items marked as gift to the intended address but without any info of who actually ordered it.

We got the same box delivered the same way. I didn’t throw it out, thinking I would try to see who sent it. It was right before Christmas. Well I didn’t get to it before three visiting Jr DFs found them and devoured the whole box. No one is dead yet.

Open it!

I don't think I've ever seen one with actual cookies inside. As far as I know they are only used for storing sewing materials or coupons in.

I wouldn't risk eating them until I found out who sent them, run the tracking number and see if you can identify the seller otherwise I'd toss them.

I would contact Amazon and "axe" them who placed / paid for the order.

Depending on the answer, I would either trash the cookies or enjoy them.

They could just as easily do that and NOT send anything.
