tomgunI used to drink Starbucks Sumatran
Then I grabbed some winco store brand red brick roasting company Sumatran and it was just as good or better for less than half the price.
Green mountain dark magic is good too, as someone already mentioned.
I drink some cold brew dark stuff too and I like it.

SchmelbyAeroPress and a burr grinder for me. I've tried ten different brands
of whole beans, still can't decide which I like best. I'm not too picky.

bobandmikakoWe haven't had a Keurig for a while but when we did, Caribou, Peet's, and Gevalia were what we bought regularly. My wife liked Gevalia, and I usually drank the Caribou. We never really found anything in a K-Cup that was outstanding, but these were all fine. Green Mountain had a couple we liked too, but I forgot which ones. When the Keurig broke down, we bought a Nespresso (original line), and my wife uses that exclusively. I buy fresh roasted whole bean coffee, grind it with a hand burr grinder, and use a French press, pour-over, or a moka pot to make it, depending on what I feel like. I only drink 1-2 cups a day nowadays, so time is not really a concern. When I was on active duty, I drank 5-6 cups of whatever was available at work, always black. I didn't care what it tasted like. Now I drink it for the taste.

TheBullI like Cafe Altura (cafealtura.com) coffee. I'm limited to decaf for medical reasons, and they have a good selection. Lots to chose from if not limited to decaf. Not cheap, but I think it's good coffee. I grind with a BARATZA Virtuoso burr grinder on fairly fine setting. You're pushing a lot of water though the coffee in a short period with k-cups. I use a Cusinart K-Cup style brewer. I got some compatible plastic/stainless filter cups that I re-fill each use, and brew with 8 oz setting. IF you go the grinding route, you'll need to find that happy spot where you get the most flavor extracted without the water backup into the head (too fine grind) or bitter (over-extract).

frayedendsI just ordered some Blackout coffee. Ordered some pods and an espresso to try in the Moka pot. They have a 20% off sale currently and I spent over $50 so free shipping. We will see how they are.

For pods this is pretty hard to beat. Doesn’t run clear water halfway through a medium cup.
