Trim lights for the house (permanent Christmas lights)?

RileyTrim lights for the house (permanent Christmas lights)?
I’m looking at installing LED trim lights on the house to save the hassle of hanging and removing Christmas lights. They can also be used for other holidays and occasions.
Has anyone done this and if so, which brand do you recommend?
Talking to folks around here I’m hearing $28 a foot installed and I’d rather do it myself for that price.

P250UA5Following. Have had neighbors that had them. Definitely $$$ if professionally installed.
Have read a few DIYs but it's been a few years.

mcrimmGovee makes some absolutely killer LED string lights for permanent outdoor lights. We use 2 sets on our home and can control each light individually.
I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

StorminNorminI can find out which ones the people in the house diagonal from me use. They can turn any color and do all kinds of patterns. Pretty much every night they have it doing something different.

Rileyxantom, thank you! Life happened and I’ve yet to install my lights.
I really appreciate the photos. My garage and outlet is very similar and that was a large hang up for me is how to install the power supply.

HRKThe Govee are top of the line and thought about it.
Woot has an off brand on sale, 200 feet for $59 about 1/3 of Govee

Black92LXI’d love to use these but I have yet to have any solid luck when it comes to longevity with LEDs. Even high end LEDs. These things are expensive and lots of work to put up and make look good.

No more putting up and taking down Christmas lights for me! I installed Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights "Prism" over the last couple days. I used some 3/4" half round raceway from Menards to cover the cable between the bulbs.

Curious about the install and transitioning from one section of the roof to another, I have several different height areas, does it come with transition wires so you can change elevation easily.

They include extensions, more extensions for longer sets of lights. This is what is included with the 100' set I bought. You can see in one of my pics where I transitioned from the garage to the house using 1 4' extension. You can cut/splice the wires as needed. I didn't cut any wires for my simple setup. I zip tied and hid the remainder of the extension behind my outdoor light.

HRKThanks I would need about 6 extensions - 2 of the 12 and 4 of the 4 foot. Costco has them on sale, not the prism but Elite which is probably a Costco version.

Will have to look next time I'm in Costco, thanks for the heads up

Link to Govee at CostcoSpoke with Govee, they do not sell the extensions separately, the basic version including the Costco "Elite" version isn't splice able but the pro and Prisim levels are. (At least Google AI says so)
I guess you could make your own extensions, and you are still limited to the length of the kit, if you go over you need another transformer.
If you have two levels or multi levels you might be best off with two 50 ft or 100 ft kits or a mix to get the desired look.
BTW Sams has the 100Ft Pro version on sale

P250UA5I only have 2 small transitions on the front of the house, where a 1-2ft extension would help to make it look nicer.
Will have to keep an eye out for a BF/Christmas/New Year deal, maybe a good 'winter' [whatever winter Houston gets this year] project.

Powers77Wife has started making noise about these. Me, I'm sticking to my 35 year string of "knock yourself out".
I have zero interest in being involved.
For some reason it seems to be really prevalent in our zip code.
Different colors for different times of year.

RuckerJust installed 400 ft of the Govee Outdoor Pro 2 lights on our house. I would highly recommend them but would definitely suggest you get mounts for them as the 3M tape lasts about 3 months here in Texas.
Link to Amazon:
https://a.co/d/2JXcVAIThey are easy to splice and the
Software to change colors and patterns is pretty good.
