Step by step walk the thousand mile road |
My best friend's widow and her son, returned to her home stomping grounds today. He died last year of sudden onset organ failure. He did do the finances and insurance thing right. She is set for life, as is her son. in 2018 he and she were the friends to got me to the Emergency Department about two hours before I lapsed into a coma which lasted a month. They saved my life. Their 11 yo son, of his own idea and volition, prayed for my recovery every day until I made it home. Seeing her go today made me really fucking sad. Friends moving away is just that, moving away. You can still stay friends and still have them in your life.

I agree. We got email, phones, Skype, freeways, and even planes. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I'm pretty sure Dave knows all about the available technologies to keep in touch. But, nothing can beat the physical closeness with these fine folks. Q
