Having done a decade plus in Bezos' corner of Washington, this is correct on all points. He's Bloomberg meets modern-day Vanderbilt. I can respect that he built his fortune his own way, but he threw massive money at politicians and initiatives that have badly damaged the whole state. Things he endorsed are no small part in why I made a big push to get our family out of the area. And yes, he decided he didn't like the way he made that bed, so now he's going to go do it in Miami. Fuck Bezos.

HRKGuys Like him are what we fear in Red States, they run here from the left coast "escaping" the mess in their home states, high prices, high rent/housing, homeless, or move to keep a job that is transferred out of WA, OR, or CA for the same reasons, all created by the way people vote and who they vote for.
But most of these people, and imagine that Bezos won't change his mentality in FL from WA, he just wants to save the tax money, same for those going to TX.
They leave the mess and then come here and see nothing wrong with their voting ideology as the problem where they were..

Socialism destroys everything.
We think we can escape some of it by moving to another state, which may help a
little bit, but it all begins with the Sixteenth Amendment:
The power to discriminately confiscate wealth from individual citizens in order to provide for other citizens was, quite purposefully, not enumerated in the Constitution as a power of government. As such, the Founders likely never imagined that it could be done.
More than any other moment in American history, the Sixteenth Amendment opened the door to America’s path to collectivism. Fueled by academic, political, and media resentment for the captains of industry in the late nineteenth century, American representatives ratified a federal allowance to discriminately tax individuals’ income in 1913, thus implementing a key feature that Karl Marx prescribed as one of the Ten Planks of Communism in his Manifesto – a progressive income tax.
The more you earn, the more you pay to the government coffers. Put another way, “from each according to his means.” But while the government could now seize wealth in a manner consistent with collectivism, it could not yet redistribute “to each according to his need.”

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

VoshterkoffThe only advantage Florida has is that he got divorced, and some think his wife was the big anti gun force. Florida better get ready, they are getting a Bloomberg level meddler. Keep in mind that in 2014 WA state legalized SBRs, suppressors around the same time. Then Bezos and his friends started throwing money around, and now we’re as bad as California.
Ps Leavenworth is a lovely town. If you have time visit nearby Cashmere, Rusty’s Drive In burgers, and the two antique stores if that’s your thing.

How can CA enforce / collect this tax if the taxee (is that a word?) has left the state and taken everything with him / her? Can't s/he just tell California to pound sand?

divilNot a fan of Bezos for points already mentioned, but him fucking over WA state and local commies out of a serious chunk of tax $ is hella amusing.

VoshterkoffThe dems had to fight this tax all the way through the courts, because Washington does not allow income taxes. Along with this, we now also have a few state ran “social benefit” programs that we pay for out of our income. Legality doesn’t matter to these demons.

We have a saying here in Texas for people escaping socialism (eg Commiefornia): act like a refugee not a missionary. A refugee is thankful a new land took them in and will do everything to avoid new location turning into old location. A missionary is like The Borg and will try to turn new place into old place until it's also destroyed.
