Recently had some cranberry chutney. It is my new favorite!

We've always done one plate with the still-looks-like-a-can cranberry sauce and a bowl with the normal homemade water-sugar-cranberries version, except with orange juice instead of water and half the normal amount of sugar.

I like the homemade one cooked until the cranberries burst and fall apart and everything gets soft, but there's still some texture.

Prefer a cranberry orange relish.
Either the canned or cooked cranberry is a distant second.

Full of chunks, bits, and pieces. Canned jelly-type only if that's all there is, and then not too much of it.

Cranberry orange combo is nice but leave out the fucking walnuts.

On a large plate, next to a large slab of hot turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing,, covered in hot turkey gravy., with a side of hot buttered shoepeg corn. Don't forget the Kings Hawaiian rolls.

Not sweet is the best.

Care to post the recipe you use?

“Jellied and in the can”. Roger that! My daughter and I can kill a can in one sitting.

But, MIL makes the ‘best’ homemade cranberry relish with whole berries and orange bits and pieces. I usually throw it out after a month with two tablespoons gone out of a quart jar. Everyone 'loves' it but no one eats it.

Don't forget the whip cream.

Jellied, straight out of the can, just like mom used to make.

Old family favorite is just cranberries and a whole orange ground and sweetened just enough with a bit of honey.

I also make a cranberry chutney that's very popular.

Almost two pages and no one yet has described proper cranberry sauce.

These guys have it when it comes to the canned stuff.

Homemade from scratch can be good if there is enough sweet (sugar, bourbon, etc) and salty (nuts) to balance out the tart.

I found the best way to integrate cranberries into TG dinner was making a batch of Betty Crocker's cranberry stuffing.

My favorite involves cranberries, oranges, and almonds but the canned stuff works also. Any and all of it.
