Of course it violated the fourth amendment but the powers that be figure if you really are innocent then you will hire a lawyer and go through the due process to show this...(cost: 10-40,000 dollars) That is how they look at it. Our now elected Governor of S.C. (Republican by the way) once wrote an opinion when he was attorney general like this for a local law that was passed.... this was before he started running for governor and then 2 years later when he was running he wrote an exact opposite opinion.

After the first police officer gets killed serving this order they'll have a SWAT team do the job.
Then a homeowner, and maybe some family members get shot too.

Interesting times are coming.

Rights can be regulated......right? This is where that pea-brained mentality leads. This and the no-knock warrant policy are simply egregious examples of a totalitarian mindset. Yes violent criminals must be hunted and stopped. No, rights cannot be ignored.

a shining example of why this notion is false

someone needs to find out who the cops were and 'red flag' them as they've demonstrated their a threat to our way of life

maybe the best thing to do is for everyone to call and red flag every cop in MD if that all it takes

My twist on this idea:

1) Simply "turn in" every politician and supporter who sponsored/voted for/supported this law.
2) I bet it would turn up a lot of guns, because as we all know "law does not apply to them and they would be more apt to do as I say and not as I do".
3) Sit back and watch the ensuing circus as they get knocks on their door at insanely early morning hours.

The legislators who passed this atrocious law need to pay the price, feel the pain, suffer the consequences.

Aw come on guys, we have to do this for the kids. Just like at Waco when they saved all those kids from their parents.

It likely will fall eventually, and I dont see how this can stand up. But how many die or have their rights violated before this is no longer 'cool'

Give an order, no time given to respond, immediate slam-down.

Struggle, bang,,,... bang, bang, bang.

As is obvious, not enough information given.

You're kidding right? The very nature of their visit at 5 in the morning on the man's property stinks like a skunk.

I know raids are generally done in the early morning hours, but knocking at such an hour is uncalled for in this situation.

Was the aunt out of line? Was the guy smart to tussle with cops over a loaded gun? Would like to hate this law, but this isn't the whole story.

This post blows my mind. Especially from a member of this forum. Let me paraphrase it for you:

"I need more information before I can state that it is flatly wrong for an individual's constitutional rights to be violated because some busy-body makes a telephone call to the local authorities."

Of all the enemies the American citizen faces, the Democrat Party is the very worst.
