Went to buy some LED taillights. Selected brand I used before since they were good as far as I could tell. Expected delivery date 4/23/20. Ok I'll try a different brand. Checked five other brands, all same date, 4/23/20. If they had shut down operations, I'm pretty sure it'd be front page news. Anyone know what's up?

No issues here. I have a couple things coming tomorrow and another delivery on Saturday.

They have a notice up that due to the current C19 issue they are prioritizing shipping on some items and that is delaying shipment on other items.

Other than a slight delay in Prime delivery (3-5 days instead of 2-3 days), I've had no issues.

If it's being shipped by someone other than Amazon, that specific company may be having some production/distribution slowdown issues.


I did notice that they've bumped up the incentive for accepting slightly slower Prime shipping.

Used to be that if you ordered something that was Prime eligible, you could get it in ~2 days, or elect to get it in 5-7 days in exchange for a $1 digital gift card for use when purchasing Kindle books, Amazon Prime Video movies, etc. I typically do that for non-priority orders, and use the ~$10 a month or so in digital rewards to rent a couple movies.

Now, the digital reward being offered is anywhere from $1.50 to $3 per item.

Great guy that runs the place. We went back and forth (in a good way) test fitting the side marker lights on a BMW. I highly recommend them.

I ordered a case of V8 yesterday to get ahead of any potential delays. They quoted a delivery date in May, so I figured I should order it. I got a notice this morning it's arriving today. Okay by me.

I suspect the items being estimated for delivery in 1/2/3 months are probably items that are made overseas, and they're not sure when they're going to get another shipment, so they're estimating a random long delivery date.

Amazon has stated they are de-prioritizing all items they believe are non-essential.

They have stopped accepting most 3rd party seller items into their warehouses.

I ordered some granular calcium hypochlotite (granular chlorine for disinfecting water) back on March 13, still waiting for it. The product now shows out of stock. I've ordered a few other things since then, and have received them.

ETA: Wonderful, I just checked the tracking number through USPS, it says ALERT: Your item could not be delivered or returned to the sender. It is being forwarded to a USPS mail recovery center where it will be processed.

I wonder if the package opened during delivery.

There's your reason. I ordered a cable a few days ago and got it next day. Today, I tried to re-order a second one of the same thing, Prime delivery April 23. I looked at other brands of the same cable, April 23. Their prioritizing seems to be in full effect now. "Critical" items get fast delivery, everything else waits. April 23 seems to be the magic date when everything will be delivered.

Well since I'm not going anywhere I guess I don't need brighter reverse lights. Guess I shouldn't waste the money anyhow. Just thought it'd be something to occupy 30 minutes of boredom and stop thinking about stuff for a few minutes.

I'll pick them up later I guess. Hopefully this doesn't impact something we actually need.

Amazon is prioritization needed items. Ship dates for other things have been pushed back.

I picked up a AR and pistol mag holder this week. One was still prime and the other will be here end of the week. Definitely needed items these days.

Non-critical stuff sold by Amazon is still being shipped immediately (more or less - sometimes a day or two slower).

For the last few years, a whole lot of third-party sellers have been using "fulfillment by Amazon" - basically, the third-party sellers send their stock to Amazon's warehouses and then Amazon deals with distribution.

Amazon has stopped accepting all "non-essential" third-party sellers items at their warehouses for "fulfillment by Amazon."

So stuff Amazon sells is fine, and stuff third-party sellers sell and ship themselves is fine, but once stock in Amazon's warehouses is sold out for third-party "fulfillment by Amazon" items, that stuff won't be available (because Amazon won't physically have it and won't restock it) for a while.

I ordered a motor for a fan and got it next day!

Well, I just went ahead and ordered them. Probably should have just saved the money and not ordered something I didn't need, but the stock ones are way under powered.

my coffee order is delayed (I order five pounds at a time of whole been that is Coffee Beans Direct brand from Amazon as the price is great).

So I had to go to the local store and find a dark oily bean, and purchase a pound of coffee.

Everyone everywhere is. They are adding time for delays because demand is extremely high.

There are 10 Amazon warehouses that have workers that have tested positive. A warehouse in KY is closed. This may account for some delays.
