Recommend a DIY dent removal kit
A big ass pine cone landed on the roof. That's what I get for picking a shady spot. Mad

Should be a straight forward repair, right? Any experience with those dent puller kits?

I have a professional paintless removal system.
A set of puller buttons, hot glue gun and a snatch puller will do. And a small plastic mallet to gently tap down the puled dent as you want to pull it out a little higher than flat.

You need quite a but of force to get those pulled up.

Alcohol releases the hot glue.

This will work.

This is similar to what I use.

I have this mallet. I use it with a soft tipped punch too.

I had hail damage on my truck due to a tornado. The dent less repair places are miracle workers. You might just slide into one near you and offer some cash to just remove that dent.

I’ve been successful with a heat gun and dry ice on smaller dents left by acorns falling off an oak tree. A dent less repair shop would make short work of that and likely travel to you.

The challenge with the snatch puller is the location of the dent being on the roof. I'll have to stand on at least a step stool and lean over to do it. The staple gun type puller would be easier, but might not exert enough force to do it right.

How does the cost of the equipment and your time and (apparently) novice skill level compare to "calling the man"?

Check around for a Mobile paintless dent repair service they will come to your work or home, had that done on a car one time, did a great job.

Google says there are plenty of mobile services in your area.

This is more art than science from what I've seen.
For the nominal cost, I'd call the man too.

The hood on the car in my avatar had a tiny "outie" dent near latch area at delivery, new. Met the PDR guy in lot of dealer for repair. He pulled out some tools, fiddled around, looked at me and said "I'm about to hit your car. It's going to sound awful. Please do not freak out, I know what I'm doing."

Yeah, it's not easy.
I just hate paying anyone to do anything I can do.

A dent is about $60 or so for the first one.
Looking at maybe $120 to pull all of those.

He'll use a combination of tools, from the snatch hammer to the staple gun puller. Then tamp down all the high spots.
