Southflorida-lawNotre Dame
Watching the UM/Notre Dame game last night it brought back memories of the Bama/ND game.
It seems that pollsters love to rank ND high all the while teams like Wake Forest put up huge number on them. Then, when they actually face a good school late in the season they are exposed. Much like Ohio State was last week (wait, Iowa sucked).
ND was lost last night, at least they have Navy next week to prove themselves.......

It seemed like one of those classic 80’s games where lumbering Big 10/Midwest offenses met Southern defenses built on speed, not size. The results often weren’t pretty...
Miami has given ND it’s two worst losses in program history I believe. Living in Chicago, this couldn’t have happened to a nicer group of people...

justjoeThe same is true of Michigan, maybe even moreso. They are always way over-rated, and disappoint fans every season. This has been true for a long time. Under the "legend" Bo Schembeckler, they would win the Big 10, to to the Rose Bowl and get their ass kicked.

I'll be up there next Saturday.... cheering for Navy!

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Let’s see. ND wins every game between 1964 and 2006. Navy wins 4 of the last 10. Navy is pretty banged up this year, ND was ranked. What is ND “proving”?

goose5I have been a fan of Notre Dame since I was a kid. The only thing on Sunday morning television was Notre Dame football. They would condense the game down to one hour. But, Notre Dame doing well means tv revenue. And, I'll be the first to admit that they sometimes get bowl games their record does not reflect. Again tv revenue.

I was being sarcastic. "Proving" they can beat up on unranked teams.

striker1Notre Dame is a good team this year. They haven’t had a great team as long as I can remember. I knew Alabama would walk all over them a few years ago when it mattered, and I knew they’d get pounded by Miami on Saturday. Miami is an example of a great team this season.
I’m no ND fanatic, but they make it interesting and often enjoyable for us locals who really can’t get onboard with downstate Purdue or Indiana.

That wasn't a loss, that was a bludgeoning, a beating with a curb stomp at the end.

Miami stopped playing at the end of the 2nd quarter, 27-0 and still put up 14 points running the same exact running play over and over again.
This game could have been in the 50’s easily.
