I don't think the prosecutors were even seeking the death penalty, for whatever reason.

I guess he got what he came for - life in America.

He was found guilty of malice murder, for which the penalties are death, life in prison without parole, or life in prison. Since it was a bench trial, I'm guessing LWP or straight life.

Then the three counts of felony murder, which carries death, life in prison without parole, or life in prison..

One count of kidnapping, which carries life in prison or the death penalty.

So make each LWP sentence consecutive to each other.

Damned shame it isn't death, because he deserves to be dragged kicking and screaming into the death chamber, whereupon he is strapped down, and his head bashed in with a rock.

Would he and other illegal alien shitbirds be subject to President Trump's deportation plan?

What should outrage all Americans is the fact this young woman would still be alive toiday and enjoying life if it weren't for Biden/Harris open borders policy.

The worst part is he just sat there, looking like he knew it was coming. Very sad for that poor girl and her family.

As a father, I want this man tortured for 50 years. Lord forgive me, but this evil needs to be met with evil and a message needs to be sent. I cannot wait until the mass exodus begins.

Sorry guys, this tragedy really got to me.

Not until completion of his sentence.

In short, when he gets murdered or dies in prison, the USG will body bomb Venezuela with his remains.

As the trial concluded, the Governor of Illinois is talking about how he will do everything to protect immigrants. What is the matter with this guy? I could only watch a bit of this trial.

The maximum penalty for the charges is life without the possibility of parole.
There are some other charges that have a maximum of life with a possibility of parole. Those are to be served consecutively, basically a backup if he ever has some of the other charges overturned on appeal.
He's not going anywhere.
The truth is that the death penalty takes so long to jump through all the hoops and is so rarely applied that it's a waste of taxpayer money.
Having the judge decide instead of a jury, requested by the defense, already made this quicker and less likely to have any successful appeal.
The best outcome under the circumstances.

It would be cheaper to deport him. But he might come back, too.

Not if we drop him on Venezuela from say, 15,000 feet AGL sans parachute.

As a nearly life-long resident of IL I take solace in the realization that so many of our governors have gone to prison, and hope his turn is next.

he should have gotten death

that would be payment for what he did
