Kentucky has just 3 Publix stores. Two local to me but the 2nd is still being built. I've been privvy to lots of their baked goods lately and, I gotta say, it's quality even at a bit higher prices. I feel like I might need to eat in moderation or gain some pounds. The breads, sweet breads, cookies, peach pie, oh my, everything is good. You ever get anything from their bakery ? What did you think ?

Buy lots of their goods but most if not all have very short shelf life. ______________________________ Stupid people are like glo-sticks. I want to shake the shit out of them till the light comes on

I have 9 Publixes within 10 miles. Yes their baked goods are great and the shopping experience is generally better than other groceries. Their cakes are fantastic. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

My wife and I are addicted to the large Tiramisu found in the cooler with the cakes. It is much better than the smaller Tiramisu sold in the display. __________________________________________________ If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit! Sigs Owned - A Bunch

Baked goods are excellent but have you tried their chicken tenders? My wife and I love them. Sometimes when we don't know what to make for dinner we will buy a half dozen chicken tenders, some smoked provolone and a loaf of bread and make subs. True story, when we moved to Florida 25 years ago the Publix my wife and I shopped at did not have a certain kind of yogurt my wife liked. During a conversation with a Publix employee she had mentioned it because they ask did you find everything alright. The next week when talking to that same employee she was told they had the yogurt she liked set aside for her. Apparently the store manager had found out and went to one of the competitors to buy it for her, now that's service. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. I love their White Mountain bread! I was told that it is baked in the store. As there are no Publix stores in Michigan, I have to be 'Mark in Florida' to buy it ![]() Best regards, Mark in Michigan

Deli rye with caraway seeds. Frequently out of stock, I asked why. Answer: they only bake three / day because it's not a big seller. Me: "Of course it's not a big seller if you only bake three." Publix Bakery Manager: ![]() הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I love the bakery and the deli. Its great that they still give out free cookies to kids. My now 38 yo son, when he was young, used to be bouncing around at Publix's waiting untill we got to the bakery section. “We truly live in a wondrous age of stupid.” - 83v45magna "I think it's important that people understand free speech doesn't mean free from consequences societally or politically or culturally." -Pranjit Kalita, founder and CIO of Birkoa Capital Management

You should've seen their bakery 10+ years ago. The quality of their baked goods has seriously gone down hill since then. Everything now is like soft, undercooked goo. Cookies, pies etc.

There's a fairly new one in Lexington. I've been a few times. The prices are high, I don't find many of the products I want, and I'm not real impressed with their bakery items. The service was great, though. I doubt if I will shop there much.

I have a loaf of their breakfast bread and it is loaded with different nuts, raisins and berries. It feels like 2 pounds and darn near a fruit cake. However, on its lable, more chemicals than should ever have to be used in a food product. The list is extremely long. They can't make this awsome bread without all that shit ?

That must be the 3rd store. There are only 3 here, Independance, Richwood at Triple Crown, that's the wealthy neighborhood and, Lexington.

Not a lot of choices in my area of Florida, Aldis, Winn-Dixie (yuck-must have the dirtiest stores and parking lots I've ever seen) and Publix. Once in a while you spot a U-Save or some other store such as Fresh Market but Publix is the main store, IMO, and of the ones I am familiar with, clearly the cleanest and best though Fresh Market is also very clean and well stocked, they just don't carry many of the things we want, especially in frozen foods. Been shopping at Publix since I came home from the Army in late '68 (IIRC) and very rarely stray to another store. I have not noticed the difference in Publix baked goods that Jimmy 123X points out, but perhaps that's the individual store. Bob

I have a loaf of Chicago style Italian bread and it is nearly as good as that baked by my old NY home town Italian bakery bread. Just needs too much real butter and used for mopping up spaghetti sauce.

This happened at our Publix regarding their gallon jugs of Unsweet Ice tea For about a month, every time we would go, they were out, and I'd have to make a run to Wal-Mart to get 3 gallons (my weekly allowance). So I caught the manager and asked, she said yes they had been running short, and that the reorder was by computer based on previous weeks sales and it had been bumping it by 5% automatically, and I said clearly it's not keeping up. Mentioned that if I have to go to Wal-Mart every weekend I might as well shop there for everything. I suggested that, since they were running out by Saturday, and had none through Sunday that the software had no way to calculate in missed sales, since, of course nothing was there to sell. She said they could override and lo and behold a week later the problem was solved... That's listening and fixing a problem, great service. Algorithms phoooey

Yes, the English muffins are great, especially the sourdough. I stock up when they are BOGO, they survive very nicely in the freezer. Also, usually on the same shelf, try the onion bagels. They're not as good as the mom-and-pop bagel bakery in the old neighborhood in Brooklyn, but they are very good for store-bought bagels. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים
