I do not know who wrote this, nor does the correspondent who sent it to me. It is more interesting than many of the political op-eds I see these days.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. I've never gotten too terribly bent out of shape over the revolving door at the WH. The biggest disappointment thus far has been Jeff Sessions. Great post JALLEN. I always believed the "revolving door" at the White House had purpose, not chaos. Getting the right players at the right time, and to jettison the ones who played out their usefulness was inevitable, ever since Christie was shown the door. Same with Guilianni, Newt, etc. All were loyal soldiers, all played a certain role, but doesn't mean they have a job for life. I don't think the general public realizes how broken the DOJ was under the previous administration. They really were worse than most could imagine, and in a way not easily seen by the public. Sessions has actually done a lot of great things to shore up the DOJ. He couldn't get to a lot of things that Trump and others would have preferred because he was literally trying to extinguish a firestorm while removing heavily metastatic cancer from the patient. AG Sessions has not been perfect but he's actually done a great job thus far. “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.
