^^^^^^ It takes some time to learn “bendable” speak. Not as difficult as Klingon but quite challenging nevertheless.

Back on topic, quite an amount but i guess that put Sullivan in the World Map, historically. Not a Beatles fan that hasn’t heard of Ed’s Show.

Not bad.

E.S. paid them $2,400 for the three February 1964 performances.

Thanks Robert.

I gotta wonder how much bigger they would be if they had computers and Internet and the likes that Taylor S. Has today.

I put the $10,000 in 1964 into an inflation calculator and it says it'd be $98,950.32 in today's dollars. Still a bargain for what it did for both parties.

I blame the 4 internet stories on the WWW.

I didn't cash the checks , issue the checks or do the accounting for either E.S. or The Beatles.

Maybe the ad will not show for you; but here is a clip from that episode sixty years ago.

Ed Sullivan was the Kingmaker back then, although Buddy Holly and Bo Diddly defied him. Sullivan had immense power back then.

My dad was a Motorcycle Officer when they came to Milwaukee in 1964. He had their motorcade.
They were impressed by his size and his side arm.
Apparently, they liked their drink.

I believe their appearance was also one of the greatest sales events in getting kids to play guitars. In 2021, they did it again with their Get Back documentary: stirred interest again in the gear they used.

For the guitar players here, the Epiphone Casino John Lennon used was not a very good guitar. It was about average at best. But since he played it, it became popular. The J-160E Lennon played was a below average guitar, definitely a step down from McCartney's D-28 or Harrison's J200 acoustics.

I've watched four dozen vids of other people singing Beatles songs,
But couldn't find a single rendition that I thought was reasonably well done.
