Male field hockey breaks woman player face with a hard shot Login/Join

So a new rule in MA lets male player play on woman's team if they don't have a men's team.

He let one rip and her face was broken and teeth knocked out.

Now they are thinking of changing the rule. But then they are already fighting on what is a male player.

In Ireland in a mixed field hockey game a girls neck was injured when "field hockey tackled"
Pic showed her out flat after the hit.

Some woman is going to get killed or crippled with this stupid stuff.

I thought is was bad when my son played against bigger guys, this is nuts.

When they are for it and pandering to the mentally ill, this will happen. It is sad to think that women didn't stand up to this garbage initially and only now, are some starting to speak out. They might as well say the best women for the job is a man.

Can’t wait for this in tennis. All tennis matches will be either men’s or men who identify as female. No female will ever win a tournament again.

Fixed that for you. When arguably the best female tennis player ever, losses straight sets to a > 200 ranked male player. She even stated a match against a top male wouldn't even last 10 minutes. There won't even be spots for women to compete in.

I am so tired of this “Today I feel like a…” crap. It’s been working itself out forever. Darwin awards and all. I’m not sure why it’s even newsworthy. But hey, I’m the one who clicked on the topic. It’s just getting nuts.

Just change the rules. The men's game is not nearly as interesting because of the serve. Women do not have the ability to serve at 145mph. The women's game has more volleys than the mens.

I know this is a thread drift... but...
I liked the game better before the high-tech rackets. Watching McEnroe with a wooden racket was a thing of beauty. It was finesse, not just power. And yes, there were more volleys, and more thought went into setting up the next shot.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I watched the video. This "male" did not hit a shot any harder than a female would have. It simply caught another player right in the face.

Just gonna repost what I posted back in May in the More LGBTQ insanity thread: Most of these "women" are no more than young white girls that would love nothing more than to show their virtue by allowing a guy playing pretend to beat them. For every 1 that's speaking out against dudes in women's sports, the other 9 are squealing for more. It'll take quite a bit more outrage for anything to change, and I just don't see it happening with the current crop of wokies.

Agree. McEnroe, despite his temper and antics, was an artist. Strategy, tactics and touch was more interesting than power and speed. Doubles was fun to watch - angles and touch.

I can't say you're wrong at all....

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

The rule isn't new. Boys have been playing on girls' field hockey teams in MA since at least the mid 1980s. About 20 years ago, I read about a male foreign exchange student who was destroying the competition in HS play in MA or CT. In 2010, two brothers in MA led their HS girls' team to a title.

Of course many female Title IX advocates cried foul and how unfair it was/is to have boys competing on girls' teams. Thing is, this is exactly the kind of equal opportunity that Title IX specifies. If a girl wants to play football, and there's no girls' football team at her school, then she is allowed to play w/ the boys. Conversely, if a boy wants to play field hockey/volleyball/cheerleading, and there's no boys' team or equivalent at his school, then he is supposed to be allowed to at least tryout for the girls' team.

The Title IX door is supposed to swing both ways.

Equality door needs to swing both ways and if not then boys/girls should not cross the gender line but if they do then they should not and cannot cry foul. ..................................... drill sgt.

Slight drift,
why the hell are these players not wearing protective masks???
They make and sell them on line for $50
I see this in girls softball all the time. No one wears a mask then some girl gets her face smashed in and it's all an up-roar. I make my daughter wear a mask anytime she plays infield. No exceptions. She was the only on besides the pitcher to do it. It wasn't cool, but I did the parenting and made it mandatory. Parents would say, ohh its so good she wears a mask, how did you get her to do it. Simple answer, she wears it or I walk on the field mid-game and drag her off by her hair. Guess what I have never had to do. It's the chicken shit parents who let this happen. Frankly, the coaches should mandate it.

By the end of the season every other infield girl is wearing a mask in her rec team and a few other infielders are now on her HS team.

My high school had a league champion ladies field hockey team. One day they had an impromptu pick up game with some East Indian boys. In the words of my friend on the team...."They kicked our asses"
