I wasn't married, was living in an apartment, working 60+ hours a week at the shop.

Now, I'm happily 3 kids, 7, 9, and 11. Working 30 hours at the shop and 100 hours outside the shop. Fatter, less hair and with adult braces.

How about you?

October 05. Married with a 1yo. Just back from a stint as a contractor in Iraq where they issue me a P226 and I bought one when I got back.

Now I have 3 kids, a 14yo, and 9yo twins, and 3 Sigs (1 aged 37 and 2 in their late 20s.)

Same weight, same hair, where did all the time go?

Ah, I joined 1 month after you. Hadn't met my now-wife yet as we went on our first date May 4, 2007. We now have 2 boys, 7 & 8, a little fatter (but working on that), same amount of hair! I had a dumpy little house in the city and we now live in the mountains on 2.5 acres. Oh, I make double what I did back then!

I joined 5 months earlier, in May 2006. I was still working as a COBOL programmer for Texas Instruments here in Dallas, but left that job for good in Dec 2006. I never married and have no immediate family--I just keep kicking along and losing cousins (5 in the past year). I am active in my church (sing in choir, play handbells, and volunteer as a photographer for the church events). And I travel.

When I joined this forum I wasn't sure how well I'd be received, since I didn't own a SIG (still don't), but folks here have been very nice to me. This is a special place.

Dec 2006, just 2 months after.

Back then life was busy. Kids have grown and left, widowed, and now retired. I don't mind saying that SIGforum has kept me grounded through quite a bit of change. There is unique wisdom and experience to be found within our screens.

I was right behind you Dave. Been here since November 2006. I had 2 small boys then. Now they are 18 and 15. I've gotten divorced, lost almost everything really, found a great woman, building house with her. If everything keeps going right I may even be asking for your services for a ring in a couple years or so.

These go to eleven.

Married for 32 years, and have one 17 year old daughter. Suffered some business reversals 3 years ago after 12 years of success, but working our way back. My daughter is one very surly teenager who doesn't like her Dad much, and I work hard at the relationship every day, but she's a good kid and a great student.

We all want more, but truth is I'm a very lucky guy and grateful every day. I play a lot of golf - it keeps me sane.

Congrats Dave!

As for me. Member since ‘07. At that time I was married 12 years with three kids.

I’ve been divorced almost six years now but we get along just fine. I recently took her to the ER when my son called and said help. People at work said I was crazy. But she’s the mother of my two youngest. We had issues with each other but now work to better the kids.

Kids are now 27 (not with her but they get along fine too), 16 and 12. Granddaughters are 3 and almost 1. We’re (yes, my exwife and our kids) are planning another visit to see the grandbabies for spring break.

Life has ups and downs but you do what you can for your kids. My youngest two get along with the new g/f. My exwife and oldest son think it’s strange that she’s only two years older than my oldest but that’s life.

Congratulations David!

I have enjoyed watching you grow into the family man you have become.

You have a beautiful family, an incredible business and are known far and wide, after your heroics in the air.

We are fortunate to have you as an active/contributing member here at SIGforum.

I joined in 2001, when for me, the internet was not something I used very often.

I had been married 10 years, my Daughter was 7 and my Son was 4.

After making a career move, I was in for several years of strong earnings.

Today, my beautiful wife and I have been married for 27 years, our Daughter is 25 and our son is 22.

I am blessed to have beautiful, healthy family and a bunch of invisible friends, some of whom I have had the pleasure to meet in person.

three months post-9/11/2001. I joined SF to settle a bet regarding Navy-issue M11's.
I was dating my first wife, a beautiful young lady who later would bear my firstborn, then ended up divorcing soon after.

18 years later, have two beautiful daughters 14 and 5. Remarried 10 years ago with my true soul-mate. I still work just as hard but with age and experience I've become quite good at my chosen profession. I plan on semi-retiring once my child support obligations on my firstborn are met.
I could always be better, happier, richer, but life is pretty damned good and feel truly blessed.

Took first class from Bruce Gray in 2005, along with son John. I’ve learned so much since.
Took early retirement, worked part-time, then back to full time 2009-2015, retired again.
Don’t shoot as much now as I would like but keeping very busy.
Sorry I didn’t get to meet you at the SoCal get-together, David. Maybe next time.

Oh, and this year will be our 50th wedding anniversary, and we now have a granddaughter.

February 2006. I was married, had a 14 year old son, I was living in Florida and semi-retired. I can't remember why I joined, but I suspect it had something to do with a W. German P226 I bought. I'm still married to the same woman, our son is living with us (again), I'm living in Arizona and fully retired.

I’m in the class of 2006 with you. I was in my 20’s (41 now), had not even met my wife and was a practicing attorney. Now I’m married, three kids and run a construction company. Crazy how long we’ve been around here really.

God bless everyone, good times.
