PASigAnyone Else Here Just Get Checks From Apple iPhone Battery Lawsuit?
Just got two checks for $92.17 each
I remember sending something in like serial numbers as part of a class-action lawsuit for iPhone 6, 7 and SE models I think. Apple got caught doing something to degrade the battery life artificially as I recall?
Finally a settlement check for more that 2 cents!

nhracecraftI sure hope so. The deadline to file the claim was October 2020, and I honestly don't remember if I did.
We had an iPhone 6, and an iPhone 6S in the house back then, though I did get a free battery in the iPhone 6 from the Apple Store just under the replacement deadline. That phone had already been retired (replaced with an iPhone 7, which I don't believe was part of the Class Action) and was to be a backup phone, which I thought would be especially prudent to have, since my son had recently killed an iPhone 6S by dropping it in the concrete stairwell at school, that I ended up replacing just prior to that. I'm currently using that iPhone 6, so I guess it was a good move.
Maybe I filed, maybe I didn't...Perhaps I should head out to the mailbox!

12GAWished I’d heard of the recall - I’m using a 6S with a battery that barely charges anymore.

kkinaAh yes...I remember "Batterygate". Apple intentionally throttled older phones. (They have never admitted wrongdoing in the matter, saying it was to extend battery life, not promote buying newer phones.)
They do have another one out, if you missed this one, for
Family Sharing users. That one will probably be only $30-50. You have until late March 2024 to file.

It wasn't a recall but a class action lawsuit..
If you are still using a 6S, you refresh your phone with getting the battery replaced with a new one. At Apple I believe it's $69 but it depends on your exact model eg plus model or not..
