dumb question: when i used to play tennis, in matches we would use at least 3 balls, maybe 6 (usually same brand / type). One ball would be in play and the other balls would be in pockets (not necessarily the server side).

what's the custom for pickleball? when practicing, i assume you can use as many balls you want. but when playing a game, do you just use one ball? or do have more balls available (2? 3? more? as many as can fit into pockets?)? and i assume that all balls be the same make/model and newness (like one would typically do for tennis - official matches, not friendly pickup games). or not necessary for pickleball?

In about every game I’ve played in a game…just one ball.

We did play with a couple that the husband kept an extra ball.

I don’t think there is a protocol about the number of balls.

Okay. Thanks.

Just volleying back and forth indoors, having played tennis, badminton, racquetball, ping pong before, pickleball feels very intuitive. No issues controlling speed, spin and direction.

The challenge will be getting within swinging distance of the ball - the body just doesn't want to move like it used to.

Looking forward to getting on a court.
