Simple question, why has Islam been embraced by so much our planet? Big, no huge topic, I know, but I don't get it.

The article posted in the England thread goes a long way toward explaining the acquiescence and surrender which happens in a liberal democracy, slowly at first, and then it’s too late.

A Settled Matter

How the British people gave up their own country, their future, and the narrative of their past.

Lars Møller | October 3, 2026

https://www.americanthinker.co...10/a-settled-matter/

From the comments:

“they [the British people] have consented, through successive governments and electoral choices, to the progressive displacement of their own majority status and the attenuation of the cultural confidence that once accompanied it.”

The above may be true in that the people elected “leaders” from the Conservative or Labour parties, but that doesn't necessarily indicate “consent” to be invaded and conquered by millions of barbarians. They certainly don't agree with it now, yet the sea invasion continues with the consent of a gen-ocidal government. The natives are subjected to punishment for even speaking out.

The Brits have been betrayed by leaders of both parties and their diabolical plan to replace the native population. The same could be said for Americans who still think we can vote our way out of defeat and surrender to the tyranny of primitive “cultures.”

Shaming the victims who have been subjected to decades-long psychological warfare is a cop out. British, American, and other Western peoples have long been empathetic to people in the world less fortunate. We have provided trillions in aid to starving and oppressed people throughout the world. Poor refugees were given protection in our countries, and this is the way they repay it—becoming vandals, parasites, rapists, and murderers.

Traitorous deep state globalists took advantage of the good will to seize control and destroy the host. In order to overwhelm and subjugate native inhabitants, we had to repeat the mantra—Diversity is our strength! Diversity is our strength! Keep repeating it until civilized society is extinguished. It is clear there is only one solution. Removal of the traitors and the invaders. At this point it wouldn't be a peaceful solution. I doubt soft and brainwashed Westerners will choose to do so. They will choose prolonged suicide instead.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The sole religion that demands conversion or death. It promises all the paradise glories without the punishment when violence against the unbelievers is done. Remember, the Lord told the disciples that a time was coming when those that kill you will believe they are doing God a favor. It still holds true for us today…

It's even more basic than that. It's well-funded anti-Western.

Academia is for sale as the Chinese and Russians have proven time and time again. The wealthy Middle East countries watched how successful the communists were playing the long game in academia and inch by inch taking control of the narrative taught to young minds over the course of decades. Now, they are doing the same thing on American college campuses thru a myriad of channels:
  • Massive gifts and research contracts from state owned oil companies (e.g. Saudi Aramco)
  • Organizations (e.g. Qatar Foundation) fund massive endowments for both the campus and specific academic programs
  • Organizations (e.g. CAIR) offer interest-free loans and unrestricted grants to college students who face disciplinary action, or lose housing/scholarships due to campus activism.
  • Organizations (e.g. CAIR) fund lawsuits by pro-Palestinian organizations and other pro-Islam interests against their university.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Is it why it has so many true believers, followers or adherents? IOW, what is its appeal to them? Why do they embrace it? Or is it why so much of the Western world seems to be kowtowing to it? Personally, I'm not kowtowing.

On a theological level, I believe exactly that.

As says Lineman101 above: The sole religion that demands conversion or death.

Mohammed was a false prophet. Any religion spread by the sword, rather than free will, is a false religion.

    Conversion or death.

    You cannot leave.

In some areas:conservative social standards and Christianity has been wildly corrupted and perverted.

Think about it. How many mainline churches are even Christian?

Rome and the Orthodox churches speak in the language of murder and invasion in much of the world, instead of the local language.

The Soviets eliminated religion, and for the most part only the Muslims sent missionaries who spoke the local language and understood the culture.

Some of the reasons for its spread (primarily in the past) have been mentioned, but being forced to convert or die isn’t the same thing as embracing it, and strong proselytizing efforts without considering the message don’t explain it entirely either.

One simple fact is that its theological tenets can seem very attractive to many people. Accept that Allah (“the” God) is God and Muhammad is his prophet, and paradise is assured. There are plenty of requirements that go along with the belief, but that can be a lure as well. Many people, perhaps most, like the idea of being told exactly what to do and how to do it in all the ways that Islam dictates. That may seem repugnant to anyone who was raised with the idea of personal individual freedom, but how many people are actually like that? Even in the relatively-free USA there are countless who prefer more restrictions rather than fewer, ranging from actual laws to voluntary agreements such as HOA rules and covenants.

In strict Islamic societies religion is woven into literally every aspect of daily life. Its rules and rituals and requirements such as praying five times a day make it impossible to forget that it’s something that rules and must rule one’s life. In such a society it’s far more difficult to impossible to just drift away from practice and then belief, as is possible in non-Muslim societies. I believe Islam also has much fewer internal fractures that cause—and allow—people to question its tenets. There are two major Muslim sects, Sunni and Shia, with a few subsects. According to the ’net, there are over 200 distinct Christian denominations and thousands of independent bodies in the US alone.

I frequently see references to Christians’ shopping among different churches to find the one they like: I.e., their interpretation of doctrine and how it’s preached is something they get to choose over that of any higher authority. Even within the relatively stricter hierarchy of the Catholic church, many members have no hesitation in saying that this or that Pope doesn’t know what he’s talking about at best, or is a total heretic at worst. There are of course differences of opinion and interpretation in Islam, but based on what I understand, it’s nothing like the fractures in modern Christianity.

In civilized non-Muslim countries individuals may examine and criticize religious tenets which makes it possible to turn away from the faith of one’s fathers; draw a picture that’s supposed to represent Muhammad in Iran, and you’ll be lucky to have your throat cut rather than one of the more imaginative ways of being killed for blasphemy.

Cohesion within a society helps keep it strong and vigorous.

I don’t know how much Islam is spreading through conversions, but it’s no doubt most common in places like Africa where simplistic and attractive doctrines are more likely to be accepted. But its primary increase is due to its high birth rate, and its spread is readily facilitated by countries whose leaders should know better—but don’t because they are no smarter or better-educated than Americans are. Our only salvation to the degree that it exists (thus far) is the tendency for the masses to satisfy their empathy urges by allowing unlimited numbers of migrants to enter from the south.

But to go back to the “embracing” question, as I say, the easy and uncomplicated promise of paradise is, I believe, a strong appeal. It can be very enticing when the man (no women) who is explaining the idea obviously knows the truth of what he’s saying. And although the Christian promise is simple and easy at the beginning, for someone who looks deeper into doctrines, it becomes very complicated, hence the large number of sects and denominations.

I also believe that things like the clear subjugation of women and members of the household to the man is also very appealing to many men. “Headache or not, get ready because we’re going to do it.” And of course if a woman has been raised since childhood to accept that position, she’s unlikely to object to it.

There are obvious ways to stop the unwelcome spread of Islam in the world, but obvious or not, they are very unlikely to be adopted by the countries that should be most concerned to do that.

It’s possible that I had some vague memory of that when writing my comment. Wink

But seriously, that is just as it should be: No one—past, present, or future—should be immune from critique and criticism. History is full of examples that demonstrate the folly and harm of putting figures on pedestals that no longer permit them to be touched by rational discourse.

That's a big deal, isn't it? Maybe Islam's most powerful aspect. Liberate their women and it all crumbles.

Many people like living under a strong structure administered with a strong hand. The feel secure not having to make big decisions or take the risks of being independent. So whether it be Islam or an authoritarian secular government, it appeals to a lot of people.

In the US and Europe, Islam has been embraced by the indigenous population out of a failure in logic and/or lack of knowledge. They mistake the concept of born with equal human rights with all cultures or individuals being equally beneficial to humanity. The modern mentality of dividing up people as either oppressed or oppressor is, imho, a major contributor. The wealthy or powerful (individuals, cultures, or institutions) are by definition oppressors. Therefore all others are oppressed victims who are to be elevated.
