I’d be irritated if the car has been sitting 2 weeks and is still in the wrapper and hasn’t been prepped. Are they ridiculously short staffed ?

When I ordered my new truck a few years it back I knew it would be weeks. It was also at the time a very desirable 4wd with manual trans. The day the dealer got the VIN from the manufacturer despite delivery weeks out the sales manager had me come up and sign the contract. Therefore it was “sold” to me in their computer system so another salesman couldn’t look in and see a manual trans 4wd being delivered next month and sell it as well. Then the day it was delivered I went up and signed remaining papers and took physical delivery. The title and registration and plates came weeks later from the state

Finally got the car last Thursday afternoon. These cars have so many damn features, they probably should offer online training. The touch screen seems overly complex.

It's a nice ride and did somewhat OK with a 600 mile round trip to a wedding in Lake Placid over the weekend.

On the way home, the engine light went on. The app on your phone gives you the code. Then searched on the net for the code and it was something concerning low coolant or an issue with the T-stat.

Added about a cup of coolant and had the code cleared and it was fine for the 300 miles home.

We'll see how it goes...

I've been watching this thread and am glad to hear you finally got the car.

Seems like they should have had enough coolant in the thing, I would address it with the dealer if I had the time.

Alls well that ends well.

... stirred anti-clockwise.

We realize we will not get the title, but we need some sort of paperwork to move forward with the purchase. We'll finance part of it, but might not be through the dealer (Hyundai).

They mentioned "waiting for the title" but maybe they are just waiting for the CO. They are saying they can not find it and suspect it was sent somewhere else by mistake... Ugh...

There has been some serious communications issue with the sales staff and the dealership. They are not ensuring confidence.

Is it too late to back out? Dont buy a Hyundai. Or a Kia. They are being stolen with a USB cable. As in the thief can literally defeat the car's anti theft devices with a 5 dollar USB cable bought (or stolen) from a gas station.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/...ith-just-a-usb-cable

And Hyundai and Kia are ABSOLUTELY NOT INTERESTED in doing anything about the problem.

We are having probably 10 cars EACH night stolen, usually the thieves arrive in ANOTHER stolen ride, ditch it, go do criminal shit (drive bys, dope sales, robberies, etc) and then ditch that car in the driveway of the car they steal for the next night's bullshit).

Not in the "hood" either. They are driving to the suburbs, to where the people are complacent because "stuff just doesn't happen here" and stealing their cars. And opening their garages too, and stealing their other stuff.

The car companies have rounded up the wagons in a circular formation as well...

https://fox8.com/news/class-ac...i-over-viral-thefts/

They of course claim, that it CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE their fault... which I agree with, but they COULD do something about it, and they don't.

Friends don't let friends buy crappy Korean cars right now, at least until they fix the problem.

Ours would too, if ANYONE had the balls to let us chase them.

It's bad enough here that they roll 8 deep through neighborhoods (in teh rich suburbs) coming in to the place in a stolen car, getting out, stealing 2 or 3 cars, and THEN going on a crime spree.

We have video of them walking down suburban sprawl streets with a guy on overwatch with an AR 15, and popping shots at any homeowner who comes out to contest his shit being stolen.

yet we STILL aren't allowed to pursue these assholes when they run.

We find them, we try to stop them... They flee in their stolen car that they don't care if they crash... and we are not allowed to chase them.

It really sucks that we have to go back to the victim and say "I guess we will get your car back after those guys get done doing all their criminal shit in it and ditch it"

But again, THIS is what the majority of them voted for...

Thank god I'm on a desk job for the next year.....

She's calling the dealer and will be bringing it in for a full inspection - on their dime.

Yeah, we read about this. Although the 2022 models can not be started this way, criminals are not going to know the difference between a 21 and 22.
The other thing is that she does not have a keyed version - it's push-button only so it should not be on the radar by these assholes.
