Went in for knee replacement Wed. All ready to go in the hospital, nurse checking my vitals pre op. She notices something unusual, calls in the anesthesiologist. He says "no surgery for you today, you are in Afib" (Which I haven't had in almost 2 years & my cardiologist just cleared me 3 weeks ago.) Fuuuuck Mad . All my plans down the shitter. Just rescheduled surgery, called STD ins co etc. Back to work Monday. At least I'm familiar with the process now, but Damn! Looks like I'll be back on Sotalol again. Frown

My old buddy was lined up for liver transplant a few years ago. After considerable wait he was in/oops go home/back again 5 times before all was as required for surgery. Doing well now. Your time will come. Cheers

Sorry to hear that.

I've had 2 styes in my entire life and they were 15 years apart. The 2nd one started forming the day before LASIK. Needless to say I didn't have LASIK on the scheduled day. I had it a few weeks later, and it went great.

On 11/20 we had to wait 20 minutes in the OR for my wife's C-Section to commence while IT tried to fix a keyboard/mouse.
After 43hrs of inducement/BP drugs/labor she was doped up pretty good, more so for the people around her, I suspect. "If everything was going smoothly, I'd be worried"

Better to delay and be able to use the knee than to leave your loved ones behind early.

I wish you the best in getting the afib corrected and on to getting the knee replaced.

I wonder if the afib was caused by stress from the upcoming surgery? Stress does weird things to me. I hope things work out well for you.

Continuing sotalol through surgery shouldn’t be a problem. Of course, unless you have paroxysmal AF they will have to do a cardioversion first with ‘Old Sparky’.

When it’s time I pray for your speedy recovery. Don’t push the surgery and wait for the doctor tell you it’s time.

Just Chad my gall bladder removed and I was worried about three things. Having something else wrong that kept them from doing it, my gall bladder being to the point where a laparoscope would not work and they would have to peel me open and not waking up from the anesthesia. I did good on all three, I hope you get yours taken care of since I know how much trouble these things can be.

Damn! Sorry to hear that!

I've been putting off having my right knee looked at since . . . forever. Maybe next year.
