YooperSigsI have been reading the same thing about Jeep. Who knows if its true or not. Possibly due to Jeep overpricing themselves to death.

jed7s9bI don’t really notice Nissans or much of any vehicle besides pickups, Broncos and Jeeps. All of those seem to do a brisk business around Kentucky. I would give serious consideration to a new Jeep if they would stop getting bigger and were offered with a practical V8 rather than the 500hp 93 guzzling racer.

The dealer in Tucson has five 2024 Mirage cars on the lot between $16k and $20k. I believe that they stay alive with prices that people can afford. It would be a good point A to point B car, just transportation with a warranty. Not a great car but reliable enough.

NapoleonSoloJapan really wants Nissan back and to be a true Japanese company rather than a Renault/French company. The Japanese are a proud country and we will see what happens. Nissan has been run in to the ground by many people and companies. Time will tell.

TomVWhen I briefly worked for Mitsubishi around 2010, they had less than a 1% market share.
And the other car line we had was Suzuki, they were probably around 0.25% share, but Suzuki quit the U.S. market around that time.

Yup.
The only demographic I see driving Nissan's are a younger demographic and rentals. While good value for their styling, Altimas and Sentras usually end up being heavily modified then junked within 5-6 years. The Rogue isn't a bad light SUV, however that marketplace is very competitive.

bobtheelfAround Nashville you'd never know they were having any issues. They're everywhere, but many of them sold used as corporate lease turnins. I doubt they sell any new.

wrightdThe Second Gen Nissan Xterra is one of the best off road capable/Soccer Mom/Man SUV ever made. It's too bad it went out of style. I recently saw one completely restored, inside and out, it must have been an expensive rebuild. It was obviously a custom shop hired restoration. It was beautiful.

Good, by this time next year, I want dealers to be begging me to buy a car from them. Kissing my ass up and down.

I liked the Xterra. Evidently my neighbors do, too -- I see two 2nd gens in their driveway right now.
I'm a longtime Nissan fan, having had four of them and put almost 330k miles on an R50-series Pathfinder. (Had two of those!) I still want a Z32-series 300ZX.
I hope Nissan can succeed. I'm not a fan, though, of the 3-cylinder engines and CVTs.

MikeinNCI got a text from the Nissan dealer where we bought Mrs. mikes car 10 years ago this evening. I have never received anything from the, before today. We moved from Wilson 6 years ago.
I wonder if it’s related to the OPs post.

Cars make up very little of Mitsubishi's revenue. This of it like the WNBA as a line item expense for the NBA.
Nissan also took the recession in 2008 harder than Honda and Toyota. They still haven't replaced several models from 10 years ago that other manufacturers have.

P250UA5There's not a current production Nissan I'd spend my $ on.
I'd take the equivalent Mazda/Honda/Toyota instead, 9 times out of 10.
I like the Z & GTR, but both are way outside my budget.

I considered getting one, then I remembered it was a Nissan. Phew.
