An idea from another Sigforum member is to get one card for recurring expenses, and another for everything else. Minimizes risk of having to call companies set up on autopay if card is hacked or compromised. So, best no fee credit card. ThanksThis message has been edited. Last edited by: ZSMICHAEL,

I prefer Discover. They have great customer service and I have never had an issue with disputed charges.

https://www.nerdwallet.com/the-best-credit-cards I've used Discover since they first came out with it. Like them quite a bit. Capital One has a lot of good options but they've gone to the new style of payoff where you accrue interest on CURRENT purchases unless you pay off your balance 3 months running or some crap. In other words, even after you pay off a balance transfer or whatever, you have to wait a couple of months before they give you a "grace period" on interest for current purchases. A total dick move and lots of CCs are doing this now so be sure to ask before you sign up. Oh, and Bank of America has THE WORST website/interface/login/UX of anything I've ever found. I will never use them again. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

Really? BoA's web interface and app are both just fine for me, and better than many others I've used.

Very pleased with my Capital One Quicksilver Mastercard with 1.5% cash back on every purchase. I charge everything that doesn’t result in a fee for charging and have redeemed thousands in cash back over the past two years. Naturally, I pay the balance off every month. __________________ Member NRA Member NYSRPA

First, I’m gonna assume you will be paying off the card in full each month so you’re not paying interest. Second, this card will be used for reoccurring charges and sit in your drawer/safe so it’s not being exposed to potential skimmers or people stealing the number. Citi Double Cash pays an effective 2% on all purchases. Chase Freedom Unlimited pays 1.5% Ultimate Rewards that can either be used for cash back, or redeemed for travel/other rewards. If you also have a Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can transfer points to that card and potentially redeem them for a higher effective rate than 2%. But CSR has a high annual fee so only bother if you’re using it already or can benefit enough to cover the fee. Discover, Chase Freedom 5%, and other similar cards are not best for the scenario you described as you’ll wont get the 5% with most automatic bill payments. Look for cards with the highest base reward like the ones I mentioned.

We switched to the Capital One Savor (no annual fee) card. 3% back at restaurants, 2% at grocery stores, and 1% on everything else. Their $95 annual fee card moves the dining rebate to 4%. Michael

We use Bank of America's cash back card (No annual fee). You get 1%, 2% or 3% on all purchases, with the ability to determine which category you want to use for the 3% cash back. We chose 'Online Purchases' which includes anything charged where you don't present the physical card. I track our cash back rewards and we're averaging 2.17% on all purchases ------------------------------------------------------ Though we choose between reality and madness It's either sadness or euphoria

Do you have one with no annual fee? I've had mine for years, and it carries a $90 annual fee. However, I get many, many times that back each year.

Chase Amazon card for Amazon purchases and Citi Costco for Costco purchases. Both are free and reward with cash. I use a Chase Sapphire Reserve for everything else - not free.
