Last week on my way back from Alaska, I had a layover in Seattle. There was a counter in a waiting area that had a spiel about how you could send $2 to this website and the money would be used to offset your carbon footprint: How do they do that? Plant trees? Hold their breaths? Puncture the tires on Leonardo DiCaprio's private jet?

Just wondering.

Basically, there is now a market for "carbon credits. It's not BS, but it's not that straightforward either.

In other words, if we want to contribute as much carbon to the atmosphere with our lifestyles and warm the planet as much as we want, all that’s necessary is to be rich—is that it?
That seems very … unprogressive. What don’t I understand correctly?

(I read the information on that EPA site and although I’m not the dullest knife in the drawer I didn’t follow it very well.)

They are paying for one of Al Gore's multiple mansions or private jets. Several companies making bank cashing in on liberal guilt or mandated government 'carbon credits'.

I should probably been more specific: They were saying my $2 would offset my jet travel. I don't think it had anything to do with what's shown on the EPA website, which seems specifically targeted at electrical energy.

Yeah, someone is trying to make money off of travelers' climate guilt.

Or in other words, someone is trying to scam money from morons.

They keep trying to pass "Cap-'n-Trade" here in Oregon which is basically carbon credit taxes.

One of the effects if this passes will be to put over half the logging companies out of business due to the requirements to have newer equipment.

Without even knowing the entire story; Its all BULL SHIT! Anything the democrats push is a SCAM, FAKE, LIE and FRAUD! They want you to offset your air travel carbon? Even though it was only $2.00, hopefully you were not gullible enough to give them any money? CO2 is a natural, normal atmospherific gas and plant food. Only low IQ, moronic, SJW fall for this crap.

Is this the same CO2 they put in Carbonated Beverages? Cause if it's so dangerous why do we drink it for fun?

Carbon credits work this way:

You pay the carbon credits so the government official can buy some carbon to put on his wife's ring.

My sister in law works for a company in Boulder that has something to do with carbon credits or investments. She been there for over 10 years. I've never asked her how it works. I remember telling my wife she should look for another job because this wasn't going to last long. So far I've been proven wrong.

And that's just a start. Nobody knows how much will be added to the price of a gallon of gas, but estimates are between 23 cents a gallon added to fuel prices in 2021, increasing to 73 cents a gallon by 2030 and $3 a gallon by 2050.

Their "goal" is to have all cars in the state be electric by 2050. Think about that for a moment. Where are you getting all these batteries to run these cars, and where will the power to charge these batteries come from? Lawmakers know these issues --- they just want to create a problem so they can swoop in and take control of all transportation.
