I have the latest version of Firefox and have never gotten that message. Besides, I don't put a lot of confidence in any these browsers anyways. Wait a minute. I know. Too many conservatives all gathered in one place.  .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress. | |||

As chowser says - it's an https thing. If your shortcut/link is: https://sigforum.com Then you'll get the message about being unsecure. If your link is: https://sigforum.com You should not get any warning. This is where my signature goes. | |||

I got that same message yesterday, while trying to access the SCCY web site to look at their little pocket pistols. Not for SIGforum, though. This blog post explains the change Google made to Chrome that results in the production of this message. Some consider it a ham-handed attempt to guarantee the income of SSL certificate authorities, a club of which Google is itself a member. Remember the basics: 1) just because someone tells you something, doesn't mean it is true. 2) you are responsible for your own security (and the evaluation thereof). 3) sometimes a gift comes with a hidden price tag. and some less obvious: 1) the use of SSL/HTTPS is no guarantee of "security," there are many many other things that can lead to compromise. 2) CA's can be dishonest too. | |||
