BennerP220Why can't I delete however many contacts I want from my iphone contacts list?
The only way I know is to open each contact, hit the edit button and scroll down and hit delete.
I know, first world problems. Somehow I keep getting double contacts or my and my wife's contacts in my phone. It takes forever to delete the ones I don't want.
Anyone know of any secret to speed this up?

Spiff_P239Do you use GMail or Outlook to back up your contacts? If so, you can log into whatever service it is that you use to speed up the process.

WoodmanIt is easier to manage Contacts from a synced laptop (or desktop).
I've not figured out how to manage Contact Groups from the iPhone yet but it works fine from the laptop, then instantly syncs to the iPhone.

cparktdA safety feature to prevent accidental deletions I guess. Swiping to delete would be too easy.
But, I see there is an App for that. Multiple actually. "Groups" is one, "Delete contacts" is another. Disclaimer: I've used neither.
I used to have this problem but found I had something set up to sync incorrectly, perhaps synced via iTunes and then iCloud both at some point, sorry can't remember the details it was a couple years ago, but after fixing that I have had no more issues.

BennerP220I can understand to protect from accidental deletions.
I don't do anything with my iphone using a computer. So that won't work.
I was just curious as to if anyone knew of a trick that I didn't know.

Scooter123Unless you have subscribed to the larger capacity Icloud (monthly fee for that) then your backup will be limited to the rather small 5 GB max for the free Icloud option. End result if you ever need that backup you'll probably find most of your pictures and some other data will be missing in the event you ever have to get a new phone.
Point is, if you take lots of Pictures you really need to learn how to use a computer with your iPhone. I typically back up all my pictures to my laptop about once a month and from there to 2 different portable hard drives. Because I am a bit of a Picture Nut and hate to even consider thinking about losing just one picture.

SIL a couple weeks ago was crying because she lost all her photos when her phone took a crap...
...then she remembered she had most all of the best ones shared on Facebook so she could retrieve them. Facebook saves the day LOL!
